Excellence Rhum Hampden LROK 2000
Anyone who already loves Hampden's ester funk will find a lot to like here. It's a 16-year, cask-strength LROK that leans hard into pineapple and banana, with a floral, perfumed nose and warm tropical fruit on the palate. A few tasters noticed how little oak shows for its age, and a couple found it lighter and more watered-down than expected at 54.6%.

Slightly older tasting. Nice and fresh Hampden with a very nice and floral nose and a warm palate with fruit. Made a note that the empty glass had a light smoky note to it.

Als nächsten einen sehr guten Hampden. Ich wiederhole mich, aber klar, tropische Früchte, vor allem Ananas und Banane sind erkennbar, sowie natürlich Ester. Finde ihn allerdings leicht verwässert und zu schwach auf der Brust.

Quite a floral, fruity nose. Not a trace of wood, which is astonishing for a rum of this age. On the other hand, the palate is much darker, not unpleasant but lacking a little balance. A surprising profile for Hampden.
