Clément 1970
Most tasters land in the same place: a gorgeous nose that the palate can't quite match. Expect tobacco, nougat, dark chocolate and dried fruit over well-integrated oak, with that unmistakable old-agricole grassiness. Several found it "very soft," almost cognac-like, but a touch thin — more than one wished for a couple more percent of ABV.
The community says- Magnificent nose
- Elegant integrated oak
- Thin on palate

Aggregated from 39 community reviews.
Elegant old agricole, gorgeous nose, light palate A well-preserved 21-year Clément most call complex and elegant, with a magic nose. The common gripe: it drinks light and holds back on the palate, especially at 44%.

ABV <45%.

This is a retaste and I still love it. Yesterday I got this one delivered and I just had to sample it once it was at normal temperature. The nose is typical Agricole with a lot of overripe fruits and a grassy note. There is some sugar there too. The palate is wonderful and an explosion of flavours. Again Agricole comes to mind with a lot of fruits. Slightly bitter with tobacco, smoke and oak and a hint of floral touch. The finish is medium to long, sweet with papaya and toasted oak.

#18th dec RumXCalendar Blind tasting: Nose: dried fruits, prunes, grass, flowery, honey, dark chocolate, mocha Mouth: dried fruits, tobacco, herbal, earthy, nougat, smoky, almond Finish: mid long, sweet caramel, woody, oak, smoky, toasted This is a nice old agricole for sure, with a great history. It was awesome to have the opportunity to taste this rum. The alcohol is integrated well. At the end i have to say, it’s good but not something special and even more the actual price tag. My prediction: This could be from J. Bally, again Martinique 🤪🤪 ca. 45% approx. 15 Years

RumX Adventskalender 18.12.22: Sehr edles, altes Destillat, gefällt mir gut.

RumXmas 2022, #18, blind: Poured it. First impression after sniffing and a little sip: old agricole. Curious how it develops. Nutty accents in the nose, like Skeldon/Albion. Remarkable to experience this with an agricole.

Very fine, delicate nose. First green vegetables, mocha, chocolate, and then in the background also subtle dried currants. On the palate toasty, caramel, and here then somehow also something old, which I can not quite pin down, direction 'old chest of drawers'. In the finish rather tart, with black tea and barrel.

Review by Thunderbird

After 30 minutes in the glass, I find intense walnut and grassy notes that harmonize well with roasted aromas. On the palate, it is no longer as exciting and has relatively little power/thin. The finish follows without any sensory change and is of medium length. I keep trying Agricole, but this one is only mediocre.
