Sip this slow and neat — it needs time in the glass to open. Old Guyana with pencil-shavings and dark wood up front, then espresso, dried plum and raisin, a bit of leather and dark chocolate. Most tasters agree it's an Enmore, dry with a "nice bitterness" that stays in check. Alcohol sits well integrated. A long, creamy finish.

Auf diesen Guyana war ich echt gespannt… und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Die Nase ist anfangs schon sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich nehme eine Aroma von Maggi/vergorenen Früchten und leicht sauerer Artischocke wahr… Am Gaumen verteilt er sich wunderbar cremig mit einer anfänglichen Süße, die sehr schnell den würzig/holzigen/Espressonoten weichen muss. Dunkle Schokolade gesellt sich hinzu. Der Alkohol ist top eingebunden. Eine Bitternote ist ebenfalls dethent vorhanden. Der Abgang setzt sich in gleicher Weise fort! Top-Rum

Mmh, eine sehr umstrittende Abfüllungen. Meines Wissens ist es Enmore, zumal aus dem 88er Jahrgang unterschiedliche Stile mit ihren Marks entstandene sind. Mich begleitet beim kompletten Tasting eine gewisse Muffigkeit. Der Alkohol ist nicht störend, ja es ist gut Holz zu spüren und dann kommt noch diese dunkle Farbe des Rums ins Spiel....Ob dies alles so gewollt war,es lässt sich wahrscheinlich nur mutmaßen...Kurzes Resume...Es ist nicht mein Liebling aus 1988, da gab es angenehmere Kandidaten.

Trockener Enmore. Aber noch nicht überlagert. Schöner Rum. Tolle Schokonoten und viel dunkles Holz. Passt hervorragend in die Vorweihnachtszeit.

Ein seht gut gelagerter und leckerer Versailles mit den entsprechenden Markern. Das Holz bzw. Die Bitterkeit sind weit weniger, als man denken würde. Braucht eine Weile im Glas aber dann wird er ruchtig toll.

Mal wieder im ICE sitzend, nutze ich die Zeit für ein paar Samples. Hier ein wunderbar alter, gereifter Guyana. Die Eckdaten versprechen etwas sehr leckeres: Nase: intensiv würzig-holzig-fruchtig. Angenehme Melasse-Maggi-Lackritz-Note. Dazu Bitterorange, säuerliche Passionsfrucht oder Kiwi, Stachelbeere und Cassis sowie Kirsche. Getrocknete Früchte wie Dörrpflaume und Rosine vernehme ich ebenfalls. Hinzu tolle dunkle und malzige Röstaromen mit leichten Taback-Anklängen, die auch Richtung Schwarztee gehen. Das muss ein Enmore sein. Phantastische Nase. 8,9 Gaumen: dunkel-malzig-röstig, leicht verbrannt (aber nicht so stark wie alte PM‘s), etwas muffig, aber nicht unangenehm. Bitter-salzig zu Beginn mit Pfeffer und Muskat, gefolgt von Tabak und gerösteten Pekannüssen. Mokka mit leichter Lakritz-Note. Dann auch wieder getrocknete Pflaume. Hinten heraus holzig-melassig. Sehr lecker. 8,7

31.07.2024 Enjoying some samples with Sönke on Black Tot Day. Nose Wood, light roasted, spice, faint coffee, light leather, dried fruit, light citrus, faint mint. Palate Light oily, wood, light tannins, light leather, light coffee, raisin, faint chocolate, light mint, medium dry, naturally sweet. Finish Long, medium dry, naturally sweet, light coffee, dried fruit, wood, light tannins, faint chocolate.

Un nez ample, boisé, Enmore avec du graphite (mine de crayon), des fruits secs (pruneaux) et des fruits compotés. Un nez très équilibré. Une bouche ample marquée par le bois avec un peu de sciure. Des fruits secs, des fruits tropicaux et du caramel très amer. Une belle finale, longue et ample.

Habe den Isla del Ron 1988 MEC mit dem Nobilis KFM 1991 verkostet. Wie der Nobilis ist der IdR schon deutliche oxidiert. In der Nase habe ich Noten von altem Wein oder Glühwein mit Zimt und Orange. Außerdem nasses Holz, Dürrpflaume, Leder. Der Mund ist voll von dem typischen alten Demerara-Kompott aus Dörrpflauma, roten Früchten, Rosine. Dazu etwas Gewürze aus dem Holz, Leder und dunkle Schokolade. Sehr, sehr lecker aber auch etwas zu leicht und wenig komplex. Im Abgang setzt sich das Demerara-Kompott fort. Die Bitterkeit nimmt nie überhand und der Abgang bleibt angenehm. Ein schöner MEC, aber nicht von der Große des 1992 Vintage

Finally time for a dram after a busy Birthday. Barreled at my birth-year so of course it had to be this one today 🥃 Heavy in the nose, where I got oak, sweetness and tropical fruits. Taste of fruits, tobacco, wood and a long ripeness in the aftertaste

Zufällig aus den unendlichen Samples blind gezogen. Wie es scheint ein sehr guter Griff. Alles in allem sind die Marker schön erkennbar. Alles sehr gut ausgewogen mit guter Komplexität, sowie sehr gut integrierten Alkohol.

Sehr dunkel kommt er daher.... In der Nase habe ich Bleistift Schokolade und Schwarze Johannisbeere , Alkohol nicht wirklich zu spüren. Geschmacklich schöne leichte Würzige Süße mit Schokolade Johannisbeeren und Holz etwas Kaffee und Rosinen.

Sehr schöner Guyana, dem man aber ordentlich Standzeit zum Atmen lassen sollte. Holz, tolle Espressonoten, bitter, aber noch genießbar, Gewürze, nach einiger Zeit auch Karamellnoten. Alkohol ist gut integriert, langer cremiger Abgang.

The first nose gives you all you need to know.. glorious pencil shavings yellow fruit and young wood. On the palate it has got a nice bitterness and spices. With wood and spices it finishes extremely long.
