Malteco 15 Years - Reserva Maya
Despite the 15-year age, this stays firmly in soft, sweet Panama territory — vanilla, caramel and toffee up front, with raisin and a little spice behind. Several tasters catch a light roasted, smoky edge and plum; one sums it up as "orange, raisin, vanilla and apple." Many call it their first rum love, though a fair few now find it a touch too sweet and simple.

How does Malteco 15 Years - Reserva Maya taste?
Aggregated from 109 community reviews.
Soft, sweet vanilla-caramel entry sipper Well-liked as an easy, gently sweet sipper with vanilla and caramel depth. The common catch: it's sweet and not very complex, so serious enthusiasts may find it thin on character.

A great fruity rum. Smoky notes with caramel and vanilla. I like it slightly better than the 10-year-old, as it is even softer and smokier. Has a nice balance and complexity. absolutely recommendable👍

nice rum. compared to tbe 10yo, the distinct smoky panama flavor is much less prominent here, which is disappointing. on the other hand its a little smoother and fruitier. I still prefer the 10yo,especially as its also cheaper

A Malteco laid the foundation for my passion for rum. I still enjoy drinking it here and there, but no longer with the same euphoria as a few years ago. For me, it's still the perfect starter rum. Slight sweetness, raisins, spiciness, barrel aromas, slightly alcoholic and simply drinkable.

Sweet rum with a little more character
Review by Patrik Onderka
I enjoyed this Malteco, a little more intense than the 10 years with a decent profile, overly pleasant and tasty. Can be used for good sipping at a reasonable price. Still too sweet for me, but it's Spanish rum.

Decent value for money. Aftertaste is stronger than expected. Perfect for lovers of Matusalem. Don't waste it into a cocktail.

The winner of the tasting evening, pleasing, round, not spicy, sweet....

A nice sweet rum with woody profile and some spices. Also fruity, caramel a hint of smokyness and smooth. Nothing amazing but still enjoyable.

Lecker, ausgewogen, Preisleistung prima

15 years old is more heavier version of 10 and 5 more years giving this rum more complex, floral and little less vanilla flavour which caused more enjoyable taste. For it's price it's really good rum, but be avare, that this one is still with strong vanilla taste and smell.

Orange, raisin, vanilla and apple.
Review by Wagnerlicious
