This rum is a good beginner's rum because it's light and sweet at the same time. You can also use it for desserts or baking in my opinion. The nose is sweet and fruity with spice and caramel as well as a light floral note. The palate is also sweet and fruity with an oily feel and very light bitterness in the background. Caramel and vanilla follow behind. There is a light bitterness in the back, but barely noticeable. The finish is medium long, sweet and fruity with vanilla.

Very unspectacular spirit. I think it‘s no rum either. It has some various notes. But the alcohol and taste of fruits is smell synthetic and fake for me. Btw. i don‘t like the don papa series…🫣🫣

Oh my god.... I don't have the words. This is the kind of juice that makes Smecta look like a 1978 Skeldon. The nose is infamous, it oozes artificial, industrial flavors. It's a kind of orange-flavored glucose concentrate with hints of caramel that make you nauseous (and I'm not even kidding when I say that). The palate confirms that this is the equivalent of a satanic suppository: a liquorous, foul, synthetic drink. You feel like you're drinking a drug. It's disgusting, and I'm not even sure it's a good rum for making pancakes. It's the kind of rum that makes me think it needs to be rated even lower than "undrinkable". The finish is unpleasant and artificial, lingering on the palate to my dismay. This "stuff" is a disgrace, a filth and probably one of the worst inventions of Humanity. Drink this doctored, mutagenic juice and you'll get diabetes and cancer. By far the worst rum I've ever tasted, it deserves to be burnt at the stake.

6,9:The nose is very sweet, orange and vanilla. Like an oriental confection, the rum caresses the nostrils with a pinch of powdered sugar. One might think of a strawberry- or rosewater-flavored Turkish delight. The candied orange peel still contains some of its slightly bitter oil, which adds a little more depth. Aeration confirms and reinforces the sensation of roundness. The candy sugar is melted and takes on the air of barley sugar. It's also reminiscent of the first bite of strawberry gum. 7:The palate is soft, fluid and quite sweet. The confectionery and bubblegum ambience remains, though one might have expected a stickier texture. The vanilla glides slowly over the tongue, the orange is in tune and forgets any hint of bitterness. On the other hand, a slight spicy, peppery note lifts the whole. 6,2:The finish is very sweet, with strawberry, banana and orange in confectionery form...

Selten ao etwas küntliches im Glas gehabt. Wurde jetzt nur noch für den Kaffee und Ristretto benutzt um sich Zucker zu sparen. Zusammengefasst ist das mich diese überzuckerte Zeug überhaupt nicht mehr schmeckt. Gnadenlos überzuckert und der Geschmack ist für mich nur noch künstlich.

After tasting it again, I have to significantly lower my rating. The initial aroma is still quite pleasant until you notice the artificial flavors. On the palate, this becomes even more intense, and the artificial sweetness takes over any enjoyment. But it's good as a mixer.

A real sugar bomb can best describe this one. On the other hand, it might be interesting for newcomers and ladies. A lot of artificial citruses in nose and tones of sugar on palate. However, I have to admit I like the art on their tubas which made iconic and got Philippines to the rum map.

That was my seventh Don Papa and now I've had enough. Basically, I am of the opinion that you have to make yourself a picture to be able to judge. For me, of the tasted spirits with rum ambitions, the Rye Cask was still the most drinkable bottling. The Baroko in front of me just smells and tastes like artificial orange flavoring, as used in baking, and Wrigley's Juicy Fruit chewing gum. Followers of this brand and effect drinkers may find their undemanding heaven here, but for me it is definitely nothing.

Just this much, anyone who likes drinking Don Papa has never loved rum. Nothing about it has anything to do with the rum product. I've never had anything more artificial in my glass. The only reason I'm giving it points is because the label is very nice.

Leider überhaupt nicht zu empfehlen. Viel zu süß. Die aromen sind einfach nur künstlich und nicht sehr harmonisch und nur mit unmengen an Zucker zu genießen. Der einzige Vorteil daran ist das er aufgrund des hohen Zuckergehaltes nicht brennt

Orange orange orange! The nose is all orange flavours with vanilla and butterscotch. The taste is just more of the same, oranges! But also spices and woody notes from the barrels. This is fine as a sipper if you want a rum that really tastes like oranges, almost like cointreau. The standard Don Papa is less spicy. I prefer the Baroko variant with more taste.

Wenn man sich bereits ein wenig dem Rum genähert hat, wird es hier echt hart. Ein Komplott von künstlichen Noten und übertriebener Süße. Selbst im Kuchen traue ich diesem Produkt ein Versagen zu. Braucht keiner!

Nase: künstlich, süß und Konfekt. Gaumen: Zitrusfrüchte, Orange, würzig aber auch Vanille und eine künstliche Note. Fazit: Typischer Don Papa. Sehr intensive, übertriebene Ausprägung der Aromen, wenngleich nicht ganz so süß wie der 7YO.

Don Papa Barokko war mit einer meiner ersten Rums, nun hatte ich die Gelegenheit ihn erneut zu probieren. Sobald man schon andere Rums probiert hat und auf der Reise weiter ist, schmeckt der einem nicht mehr. Der Geruch und Geschmack ist einfach künstlich. Da bin ich raus.

DP 7y ist ja wie Bayern München, entweder man liebt oder hasst ihn ;-) Ich mag DP 7y, dazu muss man heute aber sagen den alten DP 7y, mittlerweile gibt es ja den Small Batch und den Single Island, den letzteren kenne ich noch nicht. Der Baroko soll den alten DP 7y ersetzen, was aufgrund der neuen Zuckerverordnung wohl gar kein echter Rum mehr ist. Ich mag den alten DP 7y, insofern war ich sehr gespannt…und bin ehrlich gesagt enttäuscht. Er schmeckt süß, mild und …, ja was noch, keine Ahnung, ich schmecke kaum was. Eventuell habe ich Corona oder Schnupfen aber außer süß und mild ist da nicht viel. 80 Sterne dennoch, weil er schon irgendwie gut ist oder ich bin zu sehr DP Fanboy. Kenne denn DP 7y und 10y und der Baroko ist auf jeden Fall der schwächste.

'How much do you want to be ostracized? Thickened lemonade, two types of chewing gum dissolved in it, a shot of Engerydrink added, stirred, topped up with Primasprit. Add color and something 'smooth', done. The nose is off-putting, the taste a total failure. Flavor truck accident on the highway, Falernum made by someone in the Kosmos chemistry set. The absolute top hit is that 'Baroko' is basically the same 'normal' Don Papa from before 2022. Just doesn't work as 'rum' in the new EU regulation. So get off the market, put a new label on it and simply market it as if it were a new spiced in the series. The 'normal' one is now sold as 'Don Papa 7' with additives at the upper limit of what is permitted. And is even more undrinkable. It would be cheeky if it wasn't absurdly brazen.

Ich mag eigentlich süß und Vanille, aber diese extrem aufdringliche, schwer zu beschreibende, eher künstliche Zitrus-Note überdeckt für meinen Geschmack leider alles. Überhaupt nicht mein Ding, für mich daher "Unangenehm", was den 1.5 Punkten entspricht. Passt für mich auch weder zu Cola noch Ginger Beer. Bumbu Original, Wagemut Ida van der Ille, Legendario 7 Elixir de Cuba oder auch Kraken zeigen wie süß deutlich weniger künstlich und damit auch "in gut" geht. Wer dagegen A.H. Riise mag könnte auch hieran Gefallen finden. Drinks: - Pur: 0.5/5 - Rum Cola: 1/5 - Rum Mule: 0.5/5

Not for me, way too cute. Not so bad that it is not drinkable but it is a little too much. Still, a little catchy flavor that makes me take a sip sometimes. Gives a rum & coke an interesting touch that is not so bad.

Pappsüß, extrem starkes künstlich übertriebenes Orangenaroma, dahinter Vanille und Karamell... ...weich, süß, künstlich kandierte Orange in dicker Vanillecreme, kurz flammbiert das ganze... ...süß, süß, süß, dieses künstliche extrem Orangenaroma dominiert immer, Vanille, Karamell. Das Ding zieht sein Aromenkonzept strikt durch. Aber so extrem, muss doch nicht sein, einfach nur zuviel, zuu künstlich. Bin schon irgendwie froh, wenn die Buddl leer is. Is selbst für Cola nix. Ein wenig in 'Pepsi', schmeckts wie 'Vanille Coke', mehr davon rein, wirkt die Mischung übertrieben.

Abszolút az édes rum kategória, de abban talán még nem a cuppogos bumbu szint, annál kissé szárazabb de így is számomra túl édes, én nem tudok belőle sokat inni. Maga a rum íz jegyek azért sokkal szebben kijönnek mint egyéb édes társai. Ha édes rumokat szereted biztos kedvenc lesz, nekem marad egy desszert mellé maximum :)

Decided not to bother using a real tasting glass for this one. I was right. The nose is not that awful with orange, caramel and vanilla. Problem is : it's literally smelling sugar, chemical, artificial. It's like smelling cough syrup. Mouth : almost only alcohol, a lot of sugar, some of the nose flavours. Seems to be cough syrup with a bunch of alcohol poured into it. Finish is quite short, alcohol and caramel. 2 for the nose. Otherwise, it's not good at all.

Po verzi Don Papa Masskara jsem zkusil tento a vůbec mě neoslovil. Přehnaně sladký a převoněný "umělou" vanilkou. V chuti vanilka a med. Nic zajímavého pro mě. Plánuji zkusit klasickou verzi Don Papa v nové méně slazené verzi.

As a beginner I do tend to like sweeter rums,however this one is over the line (I won’t go into the battle now what the description is for rum,if the rules are loose after all these decades I am not the right person to do so anyway) Very fruity/orange,vanilla,extra sweet and light.
