Silver Seal Hampden HLCF 1992
Nail polish and overripe banana lead the nose, then pineapple and a whole basket of yellow tropical fruit — the Hampden signature, but tamed by 23 years in wood. The HLCF mark keeps the esters medium rather than full-throttle, so it reads balanced instead of wild. Sweetness and acidity sit level, the finish turns dry, woody and lightly smoky. At 50% the alcohol pushes hard for some.

21.04.2017 Meeting with a few colleagues for a nice evening with good food and drinks. Notes Medium dark colour. Nose Fresh, intense, light wood, ester, fruity, overripe, light smoke. Palate Intense, warm, wood, light roasted, fruity, banana, overripe, vegetal, light caramel, faint chocolate. Finish Very long and warm, wood, fruity, light chocolate, citrus.

Sehr angenehmer gereifter Hampden mit ausgewogenem Ester-Tropische Früchte-Mix. Nagellack, Banane und Ananas sind wie gewohnt vertreten. Holznoten nur dezent zu erkennen. Der Alkohol ist beinahe zu dominant

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that produces rum as well as alcohol for perfume. In all the rums from this distillery you will taste wild esters, after which your whole organism will soak up the smell of golden tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the "must try before you die" rums
