Velier The Antigua Distillery Heavy Traditional Rum Single Cask 2012
Blind-tasted, more than one person guessed a Martinique agricole before the label set them straight. What you actually get is a creamy, citrus-forward Antigua pot-style rum: toasted coconut, vanilla, caramel and cherry over real oak, with dried fruit on a long finish. The 68.5% shows a little alcoholic bite, but tasters call the balance rare for something this strong.

How does Velier The Antigua Distillery Heavy Traditional Rum Single Cask 2012 taste?
Aggregated from 26 community reviews.
Creamy, citrus-coconut Antigua cask at full proof Complex, creamy and citrusy with toasted coconut and wood; most find it satisfying. The high proof brings some heat, and a few felt it was good rather than groundbreaking.

Probably the best product from Antigua on the market. Would not have thought that this particular barrel from the normal blend of the other 27 barrels brings so much more complexity but the thing is really ne grenade. Alcohol is extremely well integrated and even a touch more complex than the 66%. Hot stuff! Whether he is worth the considerable surcharge compared to the also very good "normal" bottling I do not know🤣

Vanilla, coconut, creamy caramel, citruses, light roasted and a lot more going on, very complex, very satisfying. I just can't get over the citrusy-creamy combo. Absolute banger. The taste however has a little alcoholic bite.
