Karukera Rhum Vieux Agricole
One taster called this young Karukera "round, gourmand and vanilla-heavy," and that fits: a light-bodied agricole with citrus, cherry, spice and a toasty, cocoa-tinged oak. It's dry and expressive without being aggressive, though the finish runs short and a couple of members found 42% a touch thin. Plenty going on for only three years in wood.

How does Karukera Rhum Vieux Agricole taste?
Aggregated from 26 community reviews.
Light, spiced agricole with citrus and oak Well-liked as an easy, spiced agricole with citrus and a woody, cocoa edge. Most enjoy it; the common gripe is a short finish and a body that feels a bit light.

A Karukera that looks quite young on paper, but already has a lot to offer, especially on the nose. Woody, toasty, fruity (citrus, dried fruit, coconut), spicy, greedy on cocoa and mocha before being overtaken by unexpected floral notes, this Karukera has a seductive, balanced profile. The rum is equally pleasant on the palate. There's a fruity structure, bordered by spices, with a hint of cocoa, woody notes of lightly toasted toast and an earthy touch that dries out the palate. Gentle yet expressive, with a masterful overall impression. The finish is warm and spicy, with almost empyreumatic notes of walnut and roasting. An effective, well-crafted rum, perhaps a little pricey but well-fleshed out for only 3 years' ageing.
