Here's the surprise: this is an agricole, but the fruit sits way back and the wood does the talking. Fourteen years in the cask left it dark, dry and peppery, with cherry and burnt sugar peeking through, plus tobacco and leather. One taster compared the dry, orangey side to old Armagnac. The 55% is folded in so well you barely notice it.

Bielle really knows how to raise the bar and this pick by Lmdw is spot on. Fruity and well balanced and the ABV is very well integrated. The finish is like forever and has a velvety feel to it. The empty glass is really nice as well.

Rhum Bielle LMDW 2001 X-Tasting: Ein einzigartiges Set welches Daniel hier ausgegraben hat. Mit zunehmender Zeit wird dieser Rum immer komplexer, die Aromen intensiver. Man kann gefühlt ewig an dem Glas sitzen und entdeckt neue Aromen! Dieser ist sogar nochmal vielschichtiger als die Samples davor mit zusätzlich Leder, Tabak und Kirsche. Alkohol wirklich perfekt eingebracht!

Bielle 2001 Nr. 6 von 12 Diese Abfüllung ist bislang die mit der intensivsten Holznote. Fast grenzwertig…aber geht noch. Freunde dunkler würziger Agricoles kommen hier voll auf ihre Kosten. Die Frucht ist hier in der defensiven Position und kaum wahrnehmbar

"Großes Bielle 2001 Cross-Tasting": wieder etwas süßer an der Nase und vor allem Agricole-iger😄 Kirsch - Taschen vom Bäcker waren meine erste Assoziation. Buttriger Blätterteig und Kirsch Marmelade. Eine ordentliche Portion Holz allerdings nicht zu dominant, dezente Säure und angenehme Tannine im Abgang. Kein über -highlight in der Reihe aber dennoch sehr hohe Qualität.

Epic BIELLE 2001 Tasting. Ein toller Jahrgang, das Set war durchweg von hoher Qualität. Einzig RX5741 und RX4918 waren mir eine Spur zu holzig/bitter. Es gab auch einen eindeutigen Sieger, das Fass welches Kirsch ausgewählt hat war für mich das intensivste, harmonischste. Hier war eine perfekte Mischung aus Holz,Frucht und Gewürzen. Der Blend ist auch toll, aber mit 45% leidet etwas schwach am Gaumen. Insgesamt glaube ich das hochwertigste Set was ich verkostet habe und wird man glaube ich so nie wieder bekommen.

J'ai du mal à identifier la patte Bielle et celui-ci ne va pas m'aider car je l'ai trouvé assez différent de ce que je connais. Hyper complexe, hyper évolutif, boisé légèrement amer. Belle sucrosité. Des agrumes également. Puis des notes de tabac et de cuir. Intense mais sans être agressif. Top.

Son nez est très agréable sur le boisé. Il est d’une douceur parfaite sur la cerise. On est loin, très loin, du nez très concentré et expressif du La Mauny 2006 décrit hier. Ici c’est plus subtil, il faut s’y attarder plus longuement, il est fermé, il faut le laisser s’aérer pour s’exprimer, mais le résultat est franchement top. En bouche l’alcool est parfaitement intégré, c’est gras et concentré. Contrairement au nez, ici c’est ultra expressif et concentré. L’attaque est boisée mais la cerise prend très vite sa place qui lui est due ! C’est d’une gourmandise époustouflante.

Danke Daniel für diesen Killer-Split! Alle Rums scheinen auf sehr hohem Niveau zu sein. Ich schmecke etwas Frucht, v.a. Orange, Tannine und Gewürze vom Fass, sehr leichte Grasigkeit des Agricole sowie einen Hauch Minze. Das Ganze ist eher trocken, mit geringer Süße, was jedoch nicht stört. In Summe erinnert das Profil etwas an alte Armagnacs, im positiven Sinne. Alkoholintegration ist großartig. Von den drei verkosteten Samples erinnert mich dieses am stärksten an Armagnacs, vielleicht weil die Fruchtigkeit der Orange eher im Hintergrund steht.
