Botran Ron Añejo Reserva 15 Years
"Nice tasting between friends" is how a lot of people frame this one — a mellow, woody Solera-style Guatemalan with vanilla, caramel and warm spice. Several tasters get chocolate, dried fruit and orange peel too. It goes down easy but stays simple; a few find it a touch dry on the finish, others wish more happened past the caramel.

How does Botran Ron Añejo Reserva 15 Years taste?
Aggregated from 213 community reviews.
Easy, woody Solera sipper, light on complexity Most see an easy, spiced Solera sipper with good value — woody, lightly sweet, pleasant. The recurring gripe: it lacks complexity, and a few find the finish dry or the alcohol a bit forward.

27.12.2025 Having a nice tasting with an old fried, not my favourite rums, but we have a nice time. ----------- This rum people can only agree to disagree on. Sipping it i feel like being on an island in Greece. This is a rum on the cheaper end of the spectrum, so considering the price you get a good rum. Probably a good rum for beginners. The nose is sweet and has fruit and herbs to it with a touch of wood. The palate lacks complexity but is sweet with fruits and vanilla and a tad of burnt barrel. The finish is medium and once again the vanilla is dominant with a nice plum on the side. Price to quality is very good.

Kneipe The Rumah Rotterdam April 2026.

Nice rum, very classic Latin clumn still solera rum. mellow woody and spicy notes, goes down pretty smooth. Also it's doesn't seem to be sweetened. but overall there's nothing outstanding, for cocktails asking for this sort of rum, it's really good!

6,5:On the nose, it's dry and rather fine. Banana, vanilla, orange peel and dried fruit are the main aromas of this rum. There's also a light woodiness, fennel and a certain freshness. 6,5:On the palate, the attack is soft, but it becomes increasingly dry. Tobacco notes are present, while sweet spices are more discreet. 6,2:The finish is fairly long, with a strong woody aroma that even dries out the mouth with its tannic character. A hint of vanilla joins the wood...

Me costo muchisimo encontrarle algo atractivo. Ron con poca “gracia” diriamos en mi pais. Lo tome con hielo, lo guardare para mezclar.

This one just wasn’t for me. It had a faint molasses and oak flavoring. Mostly, however, I was left with an antiseptic taste.

👃: Typical woody notes with hints of dark chocolate and vanilla.👅: Sweet after milk chocolate with a hint of subtle woodiness. The flavour is typical of the production of Industrias licoreras de Guatemala. Initially the taste is robust but after a while it opens up and moves from burnt notes to chocolate, vanilla and in fact everything Guatemalan rums are known for. The aftertaste aka finish is medium, pleasant but I still can't shake the impression that this is a rum that is more suited for drinks and cocktails than for drinking on its own.

Couleur magnifique et foncée, nez très aromatique sur la vanille et le boisé, très marqué sucré comme un Solera. Boucle douce et légèrement whisky 🥃, finale un peu plus amère et chaleureuse
