Bacardi Facundo Paraiso
Surprising for a Bacardi: this 23-year column-still rum drinks dry and cognac-leaning, not the sweet bomb you might expect. Dark chocolate, charred oak, cocoa and biscuits, with raisins and dried apricot on a medium, tannic finish. Most tasters find it genuinely complex, though a couple felt there was "like nothing" there and wished it hit harder than 40%.

Dry, cognac-leaning aged oak sipper A well-aged, dry, cognac-tinged sipper most find complex and enjoyable. The main gripe: at 40% it feels held back, and the finish can read thin.

Review by Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰
Considering the price, this rum should be a lot better and a poor choice in quality to price when looking at the Facundo lineup. The nose is light and fruity with vanilla and caramel and a hint of cognac. The palate is complex and dry, yet velvety with fruit and spices. In the back i get chocolate, cookies and cognac. On too of that a good shot of oak. The finish is medium long with smoky oak and raisins and a hint of marzipan.
