Cadenhead's DDL Green Label
Well-liked but not worshipped — most tasters peg this as classic Port Mourant and enjoy it, while a few find it a touch tired or wish for cask strength. Expect pencil shavings, tropical fruit, leather and wax, then a dry, bitter oak finish. One member calls it "too much wood compared to 12y" — the oak does grow through the glass.

Wieder einer der besseren Abfüllungen aus der Cadenhead Green Label Serie. Ein angenehmer Vertreter, aber wie immer hätte ich diesen gerne in Fassstärke gehabt. Das verbaut ihn leider die Chance einer besseren Bewertung, aber trotz allen ein sehr leckeres Teil.

Un rhum qui semble un peu léger au nez avec des fruits tropicaux et du cuir et quelque chose de végétal. La bouche a une belle attaque qui revient sur les fruits avec une petite verdeur en arrière plan. Une finale moyenne, le bois et son amertume prennent de plus en plus d’importance. Un vrai rhum de Guyane, même s’il n’est pas remarquable.

Great great smell. Anise. (Galia) Melon. Beeswax. A bit of paint. If i'm not mistaken this is Port Mourant. More dry and bitter than expected in the taste. A very present oakiness. Litchis. Rose water. Turkish Delight anyone. Dry still. Palo santo wood. Some unexpected notes in this. Pretty great and a bit weird. Love it.

Reiferer Demerara mit klassischer, aber etwas müder Aromatik. In der Nase Karamell, Holz und dunkler Zucker, begleitet von einem leicht alkoholischen Einschlag. Am Gaumen weich und süß mit Melasse, Toffee und dezenter Würze, jedoch ohne große Entwicklung. Der Alkohol bleibt spürbar und wirkt nicht ganz integriert. Der Abgang ist mittellang, leicht trocken und unspektakulär. Insgesamt solide, aber wenig charaktervoll und ohne die Tiefe, die man vom Alter erwarten könnte.

Tolles Demerara-Release, prägnante mineralische Noten von Bleistift und leicht medizinischer Aromatik. Dazu tolle Fruchtigkeit, Holzeinflüsse, elegante Süsse. Funktioniert bestens auf Trinkstärke, der Rum hat Kraft und Ausdrucksstärke. Gelungene Auswahl.

Sehr leckerer Guyana. Ist und bleibt einfach nicht mein Profil. Die Mischung aus pflanzlichen sowie tropischen Noten ist zwar nicht unangenehm, aber es holt mich nicht ab. Insgesamt aber ein sehr geschmeidiger Rum der trotz des niedrigen ABVs zu überzeugen weiß.

Heute wieder ein Green Label der etwas auf dem Kasten hat. Sowohl in der Nase als auch auf dem Gaumen komplex. Man schmeckt aber recht schnell die bekannten Noten eines PM heraus. Etwas würzig, leicht medizinisch. Ich mag es sehr! Toller Rum

Finally this tasting is producing something worthwhile, pm typical nose with fruit wood and varnish. Some pencil shavings in the background. The palate brings more of the same with a pleasant bitterness.
