Isla del Ron Bellevue 2008
Not the grassy agricole punch you might expect — the oak leads here, with roasted, nutty, cocoa notes layered over fresh cane. One taster found "green, peppery, flambeed bananas" with a herbal aloe freshness; another got a Scotch single malt vibe. At nearly 52% the alcohol sits well integrated. Grows in the glass, though the vegetal side stays shy. An easy, gourmand daily sipper.

Review by Bavarian Rum Lover
A successful surprise. Great Agricole notes, fresh sugar cane juice notes with walnut and vanilla, fine spicy and slightly dry finish. Alcohol perfectly integrated at almost 52%. Wonderful daily sipper that is fun and not overwhelming. For the paid 99€ a purchase recommendation, if still to be found.

A nice Damoiseau! Nose is fruity (mainly citrusy) with a tiny bit of spices and varnish/alcool but in a nice manner. On the palate you've got these green, peppery, flambeed bananas all over the place. A nice herbal freshness (Aloe Vera) melted with spices, green olives, brine and some licorice. Round and gourmand. The final is medium and a bit drying, that's were the balance goes more in favor of the oak but it did the job pretty well! The price is sweet too!

Got a big Scotch single malt whisky vibe from this one. A grower yet a bit fierce in the beginning.

Auch am nächsten Tag bleibt der Eindruck: solide, genießbar, aber nichts Besonderes und kein Vergleich zu den 1998er Abfüllungen. Muss ich keine Flasche davon haben und auch das 5cl Sample ist zu viel.

Mixture of toasty and fruity/floral notes. All not yet as harmonious and complex as the 1998s. But overall quite successful.
Review by DosenZorn
Tasted as a 5cl sample. In the nose ne decent portion of dead fruit, esp. cherries. In addition, fresh wood and dark chocolate. Grassy Agricole notes are only very discreet to guess. On the palate woody flavors continue. In addition, a touch of lime, vanilla, cocoa and raisins. Quite little happens in the finish. Overall, an easy drinking but tasty Agricole.Edit: with longer time in the glass, the herbal agricole notes come through both on the palate, as well as on the nose then.

Seems a bit too young.
