Fresh grassy sugarcane leads, with lime, honey, a little coconut and mint on the nose, then dried apricot and light roasted oak on the palate. At 54.1% it stays elegant rather than hot, finishing long, dry and tannic. Several tasters call it the best of the three 2016 Chai casks.

Vergleich zwischen den drei Neisson 2016 Chai 4yr. Cask #5 Die hellste Farbe deutet schon an, dass dieser Rhum.der mit den hellsten und kräutigsten Noten ist. Dem ist auch so. Viel junges Holz, Gras und Pflanzen, Blumen und Politur. 75 Punkte Cask #2 Der farblich Dunkelste von allen Dreien. Am Gaumen deutlich wärmer, voller und adstringenter als seine Brüder. Rote Früchte, Tabak, Leder und Holz. Herrlich langer warmer Abgang. 85 Punkte Cask #4 Der Fruchtigste des Dreiergestirns mit einer interessanten grasigen karamell-zitrus Note im Abgang. Leichr bitter, liegt in seinem Aromenspektrum irgendwo zwischen dem Grasigen und dem Ledrigen. 77 Punkte

8,7:On the nose, floral, minty and grassy sugarcane surprises our nosetrils, with lime, bergamot, dried apricots and peaches, with slightly roasted wood and cream toffee. On aeration, the cane is fresh with tea, herbaceous and earthy, confectionery notes arise and dark chocolate, coffee, almonds with vanilla, baked apple, coconut. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is bitter-sweet with grassy(hay) sugarcane, honeycomb, slightly waxy, dried fruits, pear, slightly roasted wood with cappuccino, cocoa, spicy vanilla, pepper, a bit salty.After resting the rum, the cane is greener with grass, herbaceous and earthy, the wood brings tannins, confectionery and licorice. 8,5:The finish is long, dry and tannic, full-bodied, with crispy confectionery, allspice, slightly smoky, fresh sugarcane, green, citrus, tropical and dried fruits... A very nice fresh nose, complex citrus aromas and almonds. The same flavors continue in the mouth. The finish tingles like fizzy. Neisson delivers in its usual quality. Really great what Agricoles can offer after a few years of storage!

Another older tasting. This one is fully up to its siblings though a slightly different profile. Fruity with nice spices and natural sweetness on the palate. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some chocolate and coffee.
