Sherry-cask fans who like a Trinidad TDL profile — raisin, prune, toasted toffee and dark chocolate over roasted oak — will find the most to enjoy here. It's mild and dry, with almost no alcohol burn at 40%. But opinions split: a few tasters called it flat and watery, one blind-taster ranking it dead last for being "very diluted."

This is the most recent special edition from Angostura. Unfortunately they have changed the bottle design, a bit sad because I really liked the cubic bottle of the 2 first ones. The nose is typical Angostura with raisin, molasses and sherry. The palate follows with toasted toffee, nuts and prunes. Later there is vanilla and oak. The day after the vanilla and oak are very clear in the glass. The finish is medium long with roasted oak and raisin.

I little too much Sherry feeling in my opinion. The nose have scents of toffee, sherry and chocolate. At the palate it’s woody and dry with flavors of oak, toffee, sherry and chocolate. The finish is medium long.

Ich hatte diesen Rum im Blind Tasting, er wirkte an der Nase sehr sprittig und flach, leichte Vanille und eine Süße. Am Gaumen wurde es dann definitiv nicht besser, sehr flach und sprittig. Auf Trinidad wäre ich im Leben nicht gekommen. Für den hohen Preis nicht zu empfehlen.

Krasne matovy na lahev pod 100e. Sice je citit alkohol, ale velmi dobre pitelny. Doporucuju i zacinajicim rumarum pro objeveni novych chuto. Mata z TDL je nezamenitelna chut, ktera se vam nikdy neomrzi.

Blind tasting on 01.02.2024, 5th rum Nose: very, very restrained, reveals nothing Palate: weak, weaker, weakest; bland and very diluted Of the eight rums tasted, this is the worst and leaves no lasting impression at all. So insignificant that I even forgot to take a photo. Really, it's from Trinidad? The fact that I was completely wrong in my estimation doesn't make the rum any better.
