Kirsch Whisky & Eye For Spirits Worthy Park Rum of the World 2006

Most tasters land in the same place: a fruity, easygoing Worthy Park that a couple call "easy drinking banana juice." Ripe banana and pineapple lead, with herbal and solvent notes on the nose, then a dry, peppery, slightly woody finish. Where people split is the ester — a few find it lighter and less funky than they'd want from Jamaica, and one or two flag a metallic edge.

Not bad, typical Worthy Park, but the metallic taste bothers me. Therefore, unfortunately, not round.

Worthy Park

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 360 Rums

Worthy Park is Jamaica's true cane-to-glass estate. Its land was granted in 1670, it runs the island's oldest and most efficient sugar factory, and it makes rum from molasses it produces itself. After falling silent in 1962, the distillery was rebuilt from scratch in 2005 and now bottles some of the most respected modern estate rum in the Caribbean.
