Naga Java Reserve
"Interesting but not my cup of tea" sums up a lot of the reactions here. This Indonesian molasses rum leans hard on brown sugar, toffee, licorice and dried raisin, with a little coffee and nut poking through. Most tasters find it sweet and a bit one-note, with the 40% alcohol not fully tucked in. Pleasant enough, rarely thrilling.

Aggregated from 81 community reviews.
Sweet, licorice-driven, easygoing Indonesian sipper A curiosity from Indonesia most find sweet, licorice-heavy and a little flat. Several enjoy it as an easy aperitif; others call the profile thin and the alcohol poorly integrated.

Leider kein sonderlich guter Batavia arrack Vertreter.

Mmmh, had somehow expected something else. The nose is all liquorice. Brown sugar is added on the palate, but you can really only taste liquorice. I find this rum a little too sweet.

An interesting tasting from Indonesia, even if it’s not my cup of tea. This one spent 3 years in teak barrels then 3 years in bourbon barrels. The nose is quite unusual to me. I scent raising notes and rice in fermentation process did its job as well. On palate it’s mostly licorice.

Dommage.

24 Days of Rum 2024 - Black Edition - Day 22 Erster Eindruck: unscheinbar, schwach Nase: erst schwach nach Früchten, nach 10 Minuten rauchig Gaumen: Trockenfrüchte, Vanille, Fass Abgang: warm, mittellang, angenehm würzig Gesamteindruck: spannende Entwicklung der Nase von Litschi zu geröstetem Speck, geschmacklich unspektakulär, insgesamt ok, aber nichts, was ich im Rum-Schrank brauche.

Spíš ovocná vůně, řekl bych hlavně po švestkách, trochu květiny a ty různé sudy. Plná ovocná chuť zase bych řekl do švestek, sušené ovoce a dřevo.

Starts off with just caramel, maybe a little vanilla. A little citrus. A hint of nail polish in the end, but this is better than the Siam edition. Plenty sweet. 24 Days of Rum #22
