Velier Caroni Trilogy Heavy Rum Trinidad Stock HTR 1996
Sip this one neat and give it time — a good hour of air, since at 70% it needs room. What comes out is pure Caroni: leather, tobacco, oily tar and that "gas station in the middle of a jungle" note tasters keep chasing. Mint runs through it, orange and light caramel soften the edges, and the finish holds for minutes. Heavy, powerful, and unusually well-integrated for the strength.

It's one of the most impressive Caroni I've met. Very pure, the distillery character is in the glass... I am in love 😍! The rum reveals itself after 1hr of breathing. It's heavy, the alcohol is super well integrated, a lot of natural sweetness, oily, some dried fruits and the amazing feeling of being in a gas station in the middle of a jungle... A masterpiece by Caroni ! This bottle is on its own the perfect definition of what Caroni means to rum.

14.03.2020 Had a nice afternoon and evening with friends. Notes. Medium dark to dark. Nose: wood, roasted, mint, fruity, orange, light caramel. Palate: oily, wood, light smoke, orange, rubber, leather. Finish: very long, warm, wood, earthy, citrus.
