The nose is a burst of freshly cut citrus with a subtle smokiness in the background. The palate is very sweet with punchy banana and molasses notes. Quite sharp. The finish is medium in length and has a creamy smokiness that is rather warming. It's very easy to drink. Probably the most of the four minis I got from Rum and Cane Merchants. Probably the one I'd buy a full bottle of.

#4439 Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Notes. Pretty decent rum. Sweet and fruity with a floral touch and a very light smoky note. After resting caramel and chocolate appear in the glass.

This rum offers a pleasant introduction to the British rum style, making it a decent entry-level choice. The nosing opens with floral and citrusy notes, complemented by lime peel, candied fruits, and a touch of white pepper, hinting at its complex but light character. The taste leans towards a delicate balance of light spices, citrus, and cocoa, with a mild, natural sweetness. The finish is short, carrying mild woody and vanilla tones, which, while enjoyable, lack depth. Interestingly, the Barbados component of this blend is reportedly 100% pot still, as shared by Crucial Drinks’ international sales manager, which is not very usual for blends of this nature. While this adds a layer of intrigue, the rum still has a long way to go before reaching excellence. As a casual sipper, an introductory tasting sample, or even a cocktail base, it serves its purpose relatively well. However, those seeking complexity or boldness might find it lacking. A decent choice for beginners or light drinkers exploring the category.

Easy to drink. Nothing special. A fruity note in the nose with a bit of banana and citrus. In the mouth classic oak, vanilla and molasses with a bit of banana. This rum is from Barbados and T&T, but there is nothing what reminds me on T&T… Very unspectacular short finish.
