Retasting with the RumX guys. --------- This is another rum from heaven and a typical Jamaica style rum. If you like Silver Seal rum you're considered a rum nerd 😉 This bottle is hard to get your hands on and if you're offered a sampler then you should have a go.

Absolutely awesome long pond! Thanks Emil for the opportunity! It has everything you would expect from a good long pond: fruit, pastry notes, spice and a pleasant woody character. The reduced drinking strength also fits very well here and is extremely pleasant to drink.

Tasted at the Catawiki booth at the 1st German Armagnac Festival ... the bottle was open 2 weeks and quite Aromatic. Rather in the low ester range but very fruity, with lots of buttery pineapple on the nose. Palate again fruity with butter and pineapple ... also full-bodied delicious with green banana and allspice. Some (good) wood bitterness and also iodine licorice-like hints with wax round things out. Tasted very good to me.

Tasted at the Catawiki stand at the 1st German Armagnac Festival with Serge. Very good despite the low ABV. Beautifully pronounced and intense taste. A true rarity. I am happy to be able to taste it.

Trade show review A Long Pond from a different era. Nowadays 6-10% more alcohol would do him good. At that time certainly a world class rum.

Great continental Long Pond, but after tasting Rob's 83 immediately afterwards, this one was somewhat forgotten. Nevertheless, wonderful on the palate with a well-tamed portion of esters.

2. tuning up for tomorrow's 10th GRF Nose: LP, clear. Round and sweet. Buttery with honey, tropical fruits towards papaya and pineapple, totally nice. Floral, almost rose. Ester in the direction of wax and dishwashing liquid. Palate: complex and intense, with butterscotch with vanilla, slightly bitter. Has a great evolution on the palate. A little woody, fruity, spicy. A very good Long Pond .

Tasted from an almost empty bottle that had been open for some time. Low ester profile (VRW?), with a noticeable dilution, especially on the finish. Profile is clearly recognizable, but not very lively. A disappointment for the money, although perhaps partly due to oxidation.
