Worthy Park Special Cask Release #4 Madeira 2013
Sipped neat, this is a Worthy Park pot-still with the Madeira turned up loud. Banana and herbs are still there underneath, but the cask brings sweeter dried fruit, dried apricot and marzipan, with a wine note on top. At 58% it's warm and dry underneath the sweetness. Several members like it but wish the finish backed off — a few call the cask too dominant.

Personally, too much Madeira influence.
Review by bossi
Compared to the two port and sherry brothers, the Meidera is sweeter and fruitier. The finish is much more dominant - in my opinion even too dominant. It does not accompany the rum, but overpowers it. However, the typical Worthy Park aromas are of course still perceptible: banana, pear after a little time and of course the familiar herbs. Nevertheless, an above-average rum with minor weaknesses. 79 points

Read full review →Despite all this "negativity" this is still a more than decent rum. I may not enjoy it as much as the Port Cask or the Oloroso or Marsala casks but it's still "good" rum. Aside from the odd off note, it's very drinkable and pretty tasty. It's just not one...
