Espresso, dark chocolate and a big load of old oak, with licorice, anise and that unmistakable Enmore pencil-shaving note running through it. Tasters keep calling it dark, roasted and warming, with dried fruit peeking out. Several love how much character 24 years and 46% pack; a couple find it turns bitter and a little thin toward the end.

09.01.2019 Enjoying samples at home. Colour Medium to dark in colour. Nose Wood. Light orange, caramel, banana, light anise, herbal, spice, light petrol. Palate Balanced, round, complex, wood, light roasted, faint smoke, spice, light raisin, light smoke, banana, faint orange, cinnamon. Finish Long and warm, wood, spice, light anise, caramel, faint smoke, light spicy, light herbal, faint varnish.

RumXmas 2024, day 3 Time for some air. First impression: Guyana. Rich and luscious chocolate tones. Creamy mouthfeel with some woody tannins in the finish, dry on the tongue but not overwhelming. Well I like it, a lot!

Tag 3 des 2024 Adventskalenders. Erster Eindruck: Graphit, danach kommen Trockenfrüchte, Tabak, Kräuter, leicht säuerlich (Orangenabrieb?), Wachs. Am Gaumen ausgeprägte Würzigkeit, Kaffee, röstig, Tabak, Fass. Die Verdünnung macht sich hier eher positiv bemerkbar (unverdünnt wäre er vermutlich zu bitter). Richtig guter Enmore!

Wow, what a nose! Incredibly dense and complex. On the palate then a little more discreet. But still amazing how full and heavy the drinking strength comes across. Really great Guyana rum!

RumX Kalender Tag 3 Nachdem Einschenken war ich mir ziemlich sicher, dass es sich heute um einen Rum aus Guyana handelt. Nach einiger Zeit habe ich auf einen Enmore getippt. Bin zufrieden mit meinem Tipp. Zum Rum selbst, trotz Verdünnung wirkt er nicht verwässert und setzt seine Aromen dadurch super frei. Nicht anstrengend aber auch nicht langweilig. Mit gefällt er ziemlich gut. Hab gesehen, das jetzt nochmal ein Sample zu mir auf den Weg ist. Das werde ich dann nochmal genießen in völliger Ruhe.

Für mich ein ideales Beispiel für wie Enmore aufgrund der wooden still schmecken kann. Einsteigerfreundlich ohne langweilig zu sein. Intensive Holz Noten, leichte Kräuter Noten (Thymian, Rosmarin, Liebstöckel) , kräftige röstaromen wie von starkem Espresso oder Mokka, Zartbitterschokolade und eine ganz dezente Salzigkeit mit etwas Trockenpflaume. Erinnert mich sehr an japanischen Umeshu Sake! Die 46% sind meiner Meinung nach sehr gut gewählt und ein gutes Beispiel für gut gemachte Verdünnung ohne das der Charakter verloren geht. Der Abgang ist ungewöhnlich lang! Dazu noch mein Jahrgang, wirklich grandiose Abfüllung!

Tag 3 des RumX-Adventskalenders: Hier gab es meiner Meinung nach das erste Highlight des diesjährigen Adventskalenders. Ein Rum ganz nach meinem Geschmack, dunkel und röstig, mit einer wunderbaren Melasse-Kaffee-Schokoladenmischung und der ein oder anderen Trockenfrucht. Trotz der eher geringen Alkoholstärke ein sehr vollmundiges und vielschichtiges Vergnügen, bei dem man sich fragen kann, welch großartige Aromabombe hier ohne Verdünnung entstanden wäre.

RumX Adventskalender 2024 Tag 3. Dieser Kill Devil hat auch eine klasse Nase. Ist sehr rauchig, röstig und holzig. Am Gaumen hat er dann auch tolle Aromen in Form von Holz, Espresso und Kaffee. Ein sehr schöner Rum.

RumX Kalender 2024 Day 3: intensive Nase mit Lakritz, Bleistift, Pilze… sehr dicht. bin erstmal bei einem alten PM. Wird im Mind voll bestätigt, gute Power mit 50%+ und tollem Mundgefühl. Holz, Tannine, Molasse, Vanille in schöner Balance mit den intensiven Pilz & Lakritze. Leicht bitter. Mittellanges Finish. Bleibe bei älterem Guyana / PM

Nose: Initially harmonious with mild dark roasted aromas of coffee. Then also spices like licorice and anise. Palate: pleasant warm mouthfeel at the beginning, very mild. Then distinct coffee/espresso and chocolate. Next are spicy flavors like licorice. Finish: then meaty and toasty flavors take over, coffee comes back and is accompanied by herbs. Conclusion: harmony on the nose and palate despite the complex aromas. A great, complex and very mild but intense rum. It's fun to drink.

Calendrier de l’Avent RumX, jour 3. Un nez d’Enmore avec un bois puissant dominant presque tout. Un nez sombre avec du pruneau et du vieux vernis. Il y a tellement de bois qu’ils me semblent de plusieurs sortes, chêne séculaire et bois de cèdre. Ce nez a heureusement aussi un côté frais avec comme de la menthe poivrée et de l’ananas frais. La bouche est clairement orientée vers les côtés sombres, énormément de bois (chêne et cèdre), mais une fraîcheur et un côté vernis sont présents. La finale est longue mais tout à la fin des notes de pruneaux, de vernis et de fruits réapparaissent. Une touche de corde de chanvre. Un rhum assez extrême sur le bois, on se sent dans la cale d’une frégate de la marine marchande. Mais à mon goût tout à fait intéressant.

RumX Advent 2024-3 Bleistift in der Nase, dunkel, röstig, leicht verbranntes Karamell. Auch leicht würzig. Im Mund erst sehr mild und leicht, dann aber holzig, bitter, Vanille und Karamell. Wirkt voller als der ABV vermutlich ist. Der hat einiges an Holz gesehen. Bisschen unrund für meine Verhältnisse und trotz des vermutlich geringen ABVs etwas zu sehr alkoholisch. Mein Tipp, Guyana auf jeden Fall. Vielleicht ein leichter VSG?

Blindverkostung Adventskalender 2024. Nussige aber auch grasige Noten aber überhaupt nicht aufdringlich. Am Gaumen sehr eindrucksvoll und wärmend. Auch hier nussige rosinig Noten. Schöner Abgang. Wirklich ein toller rum.

RumX Adventskalender 2024: Nr. 3 Ein Rum mit dunkler Farbe und höherem ABV. Dieser Rum lag wohl einige Zeit im Fass. Würde auf einen Jamaika Rum tippen (New Yarmouth). Insgesamt sehr rund, schwer und warm, perfekt für die Jahreszeit.

Diesen Färbung Farbton (alte Eiche) habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gewählt, da bin ich sehr gespannt! Nase: Harzer Käse! Puh, der ist speziell! Insgesamt nicht sehr intensiv und schwierig zu differenzieren. Ganz entfernt ein paar schrumpelige Rosinen und Malz. Gaumen: definitiv Guyana aber sehr lange gereift, da ist kaum noch Frucht übrig. Alkoholgehalt scheint auch eher gering (~ 50%). Deshalb würde ich auf den RX7441 tippen. Außergewöhnlicher Rum mit krasser Fass-Schlagseite.
