The surprise here is the dryness: for a 10-year agricole, the sweet cane note hangs back and lets wood, tobacco and a herbal, vegetal edge lead. Several tasters find it sharp and a little sec up front, then dried fruit — apricot, marmalade — shows up late on the finish. Honey, vanilla and oak round it out. Elegant and balanced, if a touch unremarkable to some.

25.09.2019 Had a nice meet up with friends at this nice hotel near the airport. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh, spice, light wood, light tobacco, dried fruit, pineapple,. Palate Fresh, medium dry, wood, lightly spicy, orange, light licorice, spice. Finish Medium to long, wood, dried fruit, light orange, light vegetal, medium dry. I have since then emptied a few of these bottles and also picked up the 15 year old.

👃 The woodiness comes through nicely, accompanied by almond, banana, vanilla and tobacco. 👄 The palate, a little dry and round, adds walnut, apricot, chocolate and spice. Medium finish.

Typical agricole notes. Sweet, fruity, grassy, but for me also somewhat unbalanced and spicy. Nevertheless, not a bad rum.

Notes très orienté miel/chêne/vanille. En bouche : vif, voire piquant, plutôt sec, végétal... On y retrouve un goût de noix/boisé. La douceur de la canne n'arrive pas immédiatement et en fin de bouche on est surpris de voir apparaître les fruits secs. J'approfondirai mon analyse dans une seconde dégustation.

Typical French style of rum Agricole. Nose: mild, smooth, only hints of fruit, cream and sweetness. Palate: Extravagant, herbal, subtle honey, typical vegetal notes of pure sugarcane distillate, hints of woody dryness, subdued fruits, creamy, silky mouthfeel. Finish: long and mellow, oaky, creamy. 42% ABV do not make it watery.

Very tart and dry notes on the nose, only honey provides some contrast. Typical Agricole, but a bit thin. Full attack in the mouth: sharp, dry, herbal. In the finish, surprisingly, more fruit (apricot) and sweet sugar cane shines through again. Overall, however, the rum does not convince me.
