C.A.D.C Rum Artesanal Venezuela Rum 2004

Sip it neat and the sherry does the talking: red fruits, cherry, chocolate and a heavy sweetness one taster called a "sherry bombe," though a balanced one. A few members happily mixed it too. At 55.3% the alcohol reads well-integrated, and that initial sweetness on the tongue turns dry fast. Not the most complex bottle, but easy to enjoy.

Pleasantly round and drinkable thanks to the very present sherry finish. Creamy on the palate, red fruits and a heavy sweetness that is fun to drink.

08.12.2023 Retasting and I stick to my score ☺️ ----------------- A very dark and pretty OK rum when looking at the price tag. Fruity with additional sherry notes as well as light caramel and chocolate. Wonderful flavours from the empty glass after a while.

Despite all the prejudices, I have to admit that this drop is very tasty and rumd. The aromas really come into their own. In my opinion, the alcohol is also very well integrated. It also makes a good, drinkable impression on me as a mixer. Thanks SaibotZtar for sharing. If it were still available at the price it was then, I would more than stock up on it immediately.

Sherry time.

Very chocolate heavy rum. Sherry influence in the nose. Not that complex but very enjoyable. A bit alcoholic in palate.

Venezuela

Avg Rating 7.0/10 over 320 Rums

Venezuela is South America's great rum nation, home to Diplomatico and Santa Teresa, and to one of the strictest aging laws in the world: a minimum of two years, matched only by Cuba. Built from molasses and cane honey, distilled on pot stills and batch kettles, then aged long in solera systems, Venezuelan rum is soft, rich and dessert-like, sometimes openly sweetened, and made in a country whose economy has collapsed around it.
