Rhum House ReimonenQ Grande Réserve 2007
"Young and wild in the best sense" is how one member sums it up — a spicy, powerful agricole with real depth. Grassy sugarcane and marzipan up front, then roasted oak, black pepper and dried apricot, with a whisper of caramel and pineapple. At 57% it stings on the attack, but the mouthfeel turns rich and the finish runs long, dry and tannic.

24.10.2020 Lovely tasting arranged by one of my suppliers of rum. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Fresh, intense, balanced, wood, light roasted, fruity, spice, light floral, faint citrus. Palate Intense, balanced, wood, orange, light caramel, faint floral, spice, pineapple, light spicy. Finish Long and medium spicy, wood, light roasted, fruits, light caramel, light floral.

Tolle, sehr kräftige Nase. Lösungsmittel, Karamell, Kekse, schöne Würze, getrocknete Früchte. Im Mund dann etwas zu kräfti, zu Beginn sticht er etwas, danach aber richtig tolles Mundgefühl. Sehr würzig. Geht dann in einen schönen, kräftigen, langen Abgang über. Schöner Agricole. Keksteig, würzig, etwas Trockenfrüchte.

Je connaissais déjà le Courcelles 1972 de cet embouteilleur suisse. Ici un rhum plus vif mais avec du sucre brun de la crème anglaise et de l’ananas au nez. Une bouche ample, complexe avec toujours des notes pâtissières. Une finale moyenne avec une belle amertume et un boisé léger. J’aime beaucoup, un rhum qui a beaucoup à offrir !
