N. Kröger Foursquare Wagemut PX-Cask
Raisin, honey and a big scoop of PX sherry sweetness — that's the whole show here, and it's a good one. A soft, mild Barbados Foursquare where the sherry cask does most of the talking: dried fruit, vanilla, a little oak, no color and no added sugar (the sweetness is all cask). Most call it "absurd süffig" and easy. The common gripe: light body and not much depth.

Der PX Cask ist meine erste Verkostung einer Genussspirituose und Alkohol im Allgemeinen überhaupt, was ihn somit zur Referenz für Zukünftiges macht. Momentan kann ich ihn nicht objektiv bewerten und schließe mich den durchschnittlichen Meinungen an. Selbst als Laie kann man den Sherryeinfluss sofort in der Nase wahrnehmen und im Anschluss auch schmecken. Die oft angesprochenene Eignung für Einsteiger kann ich bestätigen. Er war, für den oben genannten Umstand und entgegen der ersten Erwartung, erstaunlich mild und der Geschmack überzeugend.

You will get a solid rum for beginners. This is probably one of the sweetest (unsweetened) rums i‘ ve ever tried! A really nice sweetly smell of Honey, vanilla, oak, nuts. In mouth the sweet continues where you‘ll find all the tastes from before in addition of some nice cookie dough. But it have a light, soft body, which is a big minus for an experienced drinker? The finish is short to medium long and continues his sweetness with a dominant taste of vanilla and honey.

A pleasantly smooth and sweet rum. Woody, fruity, vanilla, and honey dominate the flavor profile. Although it lacks a bit of depth, it is nicely easy-drinking with a light sherry note in the finish. Great value for money. Clear recommendation.

Eindimensional mit einer Fruchtnote und ansonsten zwar nicht überbordender Süße, aber mangels weiterer Geschmacksnoten eine der wenigen Komponenten. Echt ziemlich unspannend. Nur alkoholische Noten im Abgang, vielleicht ein Hauch von Sherryfass. Keine Tiefe

This is a very light and close to diluted release. Price to quality is pretty good though. Sweet and fruity with some caramel and spices. Mild and oily on the palate and finish. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has really nice flavours.

Schön süffiger Rum. Sehr mild. Süß aber nicht zu süß für meinen Geschmack. Der Rum ist ohne Farbstoff und ohne Zucker. Preis- Leistung ist hier Top! Für eine bessere Bewertung ist mir mittlerweile die Sherrynote zu präsent. Dennoch ein guter Rum.

Certainly a good starter rum. Brings a lot of sweetness and fruity sherry notes. Very drinkable. However, the rum is very smothered by the finish. Far too sweet for me personally. No depth at all and a slightly watery mouthfeel. Perhaps a good compromise for people who like it sweet but don't like extra sugar added.

Eine wunderschöne Farbe im Glas und das ganz ohne den so oft verwendeten Farbstoff. Im Geruch angenehm nach Trauben, Sherry und Holz. Zieht dicke Tränen am Glasrand und schmeckt süß, fruchtig nach Sherry. Der Barbados Rum kommt mild und unaufdringlich durch. Sehr weich im Mund. Ein süßer Rum ohne Zuckerzusatz und Farbstoffe. Die Süße kommt rein vom Sherry. Ganz toll 👏 Edit: nach einer zweiten Verkostung bewerte ich ihn noch etwas höher.

Brett, aber: nach allem Hype hatte ich da in der Nase sogar mehr erwartet. Vollgas Sherry natürlich und alte, volle Barbados-Noten von Frucht usw. Der Sherry hat hier vor allem Charakter und ist kein matschiger Hauch von Wein wie bei anderen PX finishes. Ja gut, der Geschmack. Die Sache mit dem 'bisschen Sherry im Fass vergessen' ist natürlich die maximale Spitze gegen all die Süßrumpanschen. Ich mag den 'Gag' und es funktioniert prächtig. Rosine, Schokolade, Sherry und eine sehr angenehme Süße. Passt alles zusammen und ist absurd süffig. Aber irgendwie fehlt's mir persönlich an Tiefe und Komplexität. Es bleibt halt 'süffig', das aber in richtig gut. Schöner Abschluss nach einigen Verkostungen.

Sehr milder Rum mit deutlich süßen Sherry Einflüssen. Für 40 Euro wirklich ein gutes Angebot. Für eine höhere Bewertung fehlt mir etwas die Komplexität. Hab mir trotzdem eine Flasche zugelegt weil er trotzdem Spaß macht.

Für alle die interessantes wollen und auch süße mögen. Aufjedenfall ein Daily Sipper der immer herhalten kann! Empfehlenswert! Preis-Leistung ist dazu noch echt gut und passend in meinen Augen. Und lobenswert zu nennen: Keine Zusätze einfach echt!

Ist für mich so ein wenig der Legendario 7 Elixir "in Erwachsen". Ähnliche Geschmacksnoten (Rosine, etwas Holz, ..) aber natürlich weniger Süße (im Vergleich mit Legendario, verglichen mit reinrassigen Rums < 20g/L selbstverständlich immer noch gut süß). Holziger im Abgang. Man merkt den hochwertigen Rum als Basis, kommt gut durch und kickt mehr als Legi, klar, höherer ABV. Spannende Kombination mit Ginger Beer im Mule, kommt gut durch. Drinks: - Pur: 4.5/5 - Rum Cola: 4/5 - Rum Mule: 4.5/5
