The tarry, medicinal, rubber-and-cocoa DNA is all there, rounded out with butterscotch, toffee and a bit of wood. Give it two hours of air; a couple of tasters found it musty on the first pour.

Dieser Rum war zu Beginn meiner Rum-Zeit noch in den Regalen. Direkt nach dem Einschenken wirkt er unangenehm modrig. Lassen wir ihn atmen. 2 Stunden sind vorbei. Minze, Menthol, schöne Caroninoten - reichlich davon. Dahinter Trockenfrüchte, etwas Würze und Holz. Schön ausgewogen, komplex, gute Stärke. Schönes Mundgefühl. Kein Kraftlackl, aber dünn wirkt er auch nicht. Nun mehr Holz und Gewürze. Im Abgang schöne Gewürze und Karamell. Was soll man sagen? Sicher nicht der Überflieger, aber er hat alles was wir an Caroni lieben, inklusive einem schönen 97er Profil und Komplexität. 🥰 Und das ist nicht wenig. 😏

Alles in allem kann man schon sagen, dass hier die Caroni Noten sowohl an der Nase, als auch am Gaumen erkennbar sind. Für mich aber einer der schwächeren Caronis. Irgendwie finde ich ihn trotz allen ein wenig flach. Eher der easy sipper Anfänger Caroni.

A Caroni with different faces. The ABV is certainly on the lower edge and gives away some potential flavors. Nevertheless, a constant sharpness is relatively present in the rum, which bothers me differently depending on the day. Basically, however, Caroni is in it and brings the typical profile on all levels.

Ein sehr geschmeidiger Caroni. Der niedrige ABV macht den Rum vor allem am Gaumen zugänglich. Viele Süße, Karamell, Holz und medizinische Elemente. Die Caroni Noten sind dezent in der Nase und am Gaumen aber fügen sich schön ein. Gefällt mir tatsächlich ganz gut. Easy Sipper mit Caroni Flavor.

Crosstasting 1997er Caronis aus kontinentaler Lagerung: Typisches Caroni-Profil, HTR-Noten, Holzeinfluss, dezente Gewürze und Karamell. Sehr angenehm zu trinken, ein Caroni, bei dem die Verdünnung sehr gut funktioniert.
