Cadenhead‘s South Pacific FSPD 2003
"I'm fully into Fiji," as one taster put it, and this Cadenhead's from South Pacific Distillery is why: glue, salty honey, lime peel and pencil shavings on the nose, then a drier, bitter-salty palate of rubber, black tea, roasted nuts and oak. Several loved the nose more than the mouth. Cask strength at 59.6%, a touch young and unruly, but full of that dirty-fruity Fiji character.

How does Cadenhead‘s South Pacific FSPD 2003 taste?
Aggregated from 19 community reviews.
Dirty, salty Fiji — great nose, drier palate Most rate it a good example of the Fiji profile — glue, lime, salty honey. Common catch: the nose sings while the palate turns bitter, dry and woody.

I'm really into Fiji. That much is already clear. Nose: a wonderful blend of lime, salty honey, fine notes of glue, pencil shavings and precision mechanic's oil. Goes a little more in the direction of kumquat and then gets a twist in the direction of yoghurt. Totally delicious. 9.0 Palate: unfortunately the light, sweet aromas are missing here, it is rather bitter-salty at the beginning, has a lot of lime zest and rather coarse, roasted nuts with gum, nutmeg and caraway. 7.6 While the nose is very convincing, it falls far short on the palate. A pity, really.

Heute mal eine Fiji-Kreuzverkostung. Es treten an: - Cadenheads 2003er 13yr - Isla Del Ron 2001er 19yr - Cave Guildive 2001er 15yr - The Duchess 2004er 15yr Der Cadenheads ist sehr leicht in der Nase, mit hellen Früchten, ein wenig Lack und jungem Holz. Der Gaumen ist holzig, trocken und bitter. Nicht ganz so mein Fall. Er geht bitter und holzig. Platz 4 im Ranking.

Exciting Fiji profile with a broad aromatic spectrum - the alcohol is not quite perfectly integrated, but the variety of flavors outweighs a lot here. For lovers of the Fiji profile, definitely an alternative to the 2001 vintage, even if there are fewer rough edges here.

A little young and impetuous, but I like it very much! Nice complexity with great honey notes.

Great and classic Fiji with great typical dirty but also spicy and fruity aromas. Burnt rubber, lime peel, cocoa nibs, honey, earl gray tea and ripe apricots with a pleasant saltiness. Beautiful release!
