Habitation Velier Worthy Park Forsyths WP 502 White 2015
Sipped neat it hits hard — overripe banana, olive brine, pineapple and a big whack of solvent that several tasters call "nagellackentferner." Most people find it works better in a cocktail or rum tonic, where the funk and 57% ABV settle down. One reviewer nailed it as "almost like a banana bread" before it turns spicy on the back of the tongue. Divisive, but the funk fans are happy.

How does Habitation Velier Worthy Park Forsyths WP 502 White 2015 taste?
Aggregated from 52 community reviews.
Funky, solvent-heavy white Jamaican, better mixed Loved by funk fans for its banana-and-olive Worthy Park character, though many find it too hot, solvent-heavy and short on the finish for neat sipping — several prefer it mixed.

Small WP X tasting during the bottling: For a white rum, extremely complex and at the same time surprisingly mild. Both overripe tropical fruits and vegetal aromas dominate here, with a bit of olive from the palate.

Interesting rum, but with 502 esters I would have expected more aromas. I sensed notes of pineapple, olive and lychee on the finish. A strong hint of solvents prevails, which accompanied by high alcohol content smother everything else. Imperceptible hint of toastiness. I like it, but I recognize that it may not be a rum in everyone's cup of tea. It is not a rum I would drink every day.

Definitely not a bad mixer for cocktails for the price. The price-performance ratio is right here. But unfortunately it has one drawback for me, because It doesn't necessarily appeal to me on its own as much as I would have thought.

Unmistakably Worthy Park: banana, a little pineapple, yellow fruit. Ester, but not as much as expected. Medium-long finish, which is surprising given the high ester content. Less suitable for drinking neat than for mixing. Tip: makes a nice rum tonic.

Quite interesting. Not as pungent as I was expecting, although the nose was still pretty heavy with industrial and fruity notes. The mouthfeel was rather pleasant, and the flavors leaned far more into that overripe fruitiness, though there’s also a rich, anethol-ish note that wasn’t unwelcome but took some getting used to.

Not my kind of rum. Very heavy on the nose. Taste is ok but not a style that i love.
Review by Jizeus Christ Guitare
Bottle opened several years ago, remaining 2/3. Nose: banana, acetone, glue and almond. Milky, yogurt, strawberry, mango. A hint of brine (green olive). Alcohol still present. Mouth: creamy, very spicy (curry), lactic, fermentative, mashed green banana and exotic fruit, bitter, almond, vegetal notes too (anise?). Finish: very long. On exotic fruits and yoghurt. A high-flying ensemble, but clearly not for every day.

Interessanter ungelagerter WP mit viel Power. Überreife Früchte mit bisschen Nagellackentferner.

12.6.2024 smells like linoleum glue, later like hard-skinned fruit, mango or something, then slightly like citrus, a little like honey it tastes mild and sweet, very pleasant

The strength on the nose of this is brutal however the taste is what a white rum should taste like strong on the grass and caramel smell ...pot still beautiful..

Nice to see some old HV bottles still kicking about! This is a funk bomb, for sure! Nose is very nice and not overpowering. Big notes of banana up front on the first sip. Almost like a banana bread. Flavor almost spikes mid taste and then turns spicy on the back of my tongue. Think it's just overpowered with funk lol
