Foursquare Private Cask Selection Hereditas (The Whisky Exchange)
Most tasters land on "solid but no surprises" — a classic Foursquare where the sherry cask is clearly there. Expect vanilla, raisin, toasted coconut, oak and a darker, dirtier edge of tobacco, smoke and rubber. A few find the palate thin or the sherry a touch heavy; others love the dark chocolate that shows up late. The 56% is well integrated.

How does Foursquare Private Cask Selection Hereditas (The Whisky Exchange) taste?
Aggregated from 64 community reviews.
Dark, sherried Foursquare with coconut and oak Most call it a good, dark, sherried Foursquare — vanilla, coconut and dried fruit with a dirty edge. The catch: some find it thin on the palate or slightly over-sherried.

As expected, another solid Foursquare bottling as always. The finish is a little different from the usual. A nice experiment that I think is a success. But for the current price being asked in stores, it's completely over the top.

Nose: way too much solvent, right cloud that bothers me! Taste: dry, metallic, astringent, fresh, spicy, musty-wet cellar, then awesome finish of cocoa and grape and some citrus. Beautiful thing but for me a little unclean!
Review by Marcel.
My first high end rum bottle, was a family present which made me move on from whiskey into rum. Very nice balanced flavors of Fruits, wood from the sherry cask, and a little dirty note of tar and rubber.

Excellent Foursquare. Rather on the dark, spicy side with dirty, smoky notes. Special, but really good!
Review by DomM
Nicely balanced Foursquare. Sherry influence is noticeable but well executed and adds to the classic Foursquare profile. Very solid release as you would expect from Foursquare and The Whisky Exchange.

chocolate, what a marvelous taste of dark chocolate. Soft and creamy, yummi!

Solid Foursquare with a little too much sherry for me - especially on the palate. Goes in the dark direction - which I like. But somehow with too much sherry. I like the dark, but somehow not really at the level I would expect for a higher rating. The dry notes mix too much with the sherry notes here

Similar profile to the ECS 2004, but less coconut, cleaner. Overall, the 2004 is in a different class. Post Tasting Note: Even with 2cl I had a slight hangover several times the next morning. Perhaps too much sulphur in the casks.

8,6:On the nose, the first impression we get are notes from well roasted wood like leather, nuts, caramel, smoke and spices like cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, we have a malt note-do we have a single malt in front of us?Some varnish is here... On aeration, citrus is out, perhaps lemon, orange peel, tropical fruits like toasted coconut, dried fruits like raisins, apricots. Some chocolate, biscuits round up notes, there is a bit vegetal molasses with black tea. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is spicy with vanilla, nutmeg, as the wood is roasted with nuts, cream toffee, leather, smoke. There is inevitable toasted coconut, dryness, the fruits are dried with raisins, apricots. The molasses is musty, tobacco is present. 8,3:The finish is long, a bit bitter with earthy molasses, cigar note, the wood is charred, dry and spicy, there are dried fruits and coconut..

Since this is the first dram from the just opened bottle, this rum did sit in the glass for a good 30 minutes. On the nose: Smoky, oaky, rubbery and tobacco notes. Kind of dark and dirty with honey notes to balance it out. There is also vanilla notes and raisin notes in the background. Did not expect this from Foursquare. Taste: Here we have more familiar notes. Vanilla, spices, coconut, oak, tobacco notes in the background. Dry. Little bit of that dirt in the mouthfeel. In the end you get some chocolate notes. Finish: Woody, vanilla and earthy notes. Dry. Short finish. Interesting rum from Foursquare as this one has different, more darker notes in the palate, but it still has familiar Foursquare style. Not for everyone, but absolutely worth of tasting.

Sherry Foursquare. Simple but good. With the 56% very pleasant to drink on a medium-warm summer evening.

Ganz tolle leckere Nase. Am Gaumen dann etwas enttäuscht, da er etwas dünn wirkt. Viel Holz. Die Sherry Fässer sind schon merkbar. Ein schöner Sipper...

Too flat, less chocolate more coffee ... Foursquare je destilerka z Barbadosu produkujici uzasne rumy ke kazdodennimu popijeni. Je to rum, ktery oceni zejmena rumari, kteri maji plne zuby cukru a hledaji jemny, nasladly rum plny kokosu, vanilky, cokolady a karamelu. Proste prijemne a nijak agresivni chute.

Alcool ben integrato

Read full review →They both like this a lot as well but maybe not as much as me! So the question is did Sukhinder and Co at The Whisky Exchange get a good Private Cask Selection? Put it this way I'll be getting a few more bottles come pay day! Sweet but not...
