Habitation du Simon A1710 Renaissance 2019
Here's the surprise: at 52% this white agricole barely burns. Members describe grassy, metallic-sweet sugarcane up front, then a marzipan-and-fruity-bubblegum finish that reads almost like an eau de vie. Others catch olive, lime, green cardamom and a saline freshness. One taster left it in the cellar three years and came back thrilled — pot-still Martinique blanc with real personality, not a shy one.

How does Habitation du Simon A1710 Renaissance 2019 taste?
Aggregated from 67 community reviews.
Mild but expressive white agricole Loved by the agricole crowd for a fruity, fresh, well-integrated white where the 52% almost disappears. A couple note the nose runs quieter than the lively palate.

Most helpful positive review
Another lovely fruity and spice balanced rum. This one has less wood over it, though its still there in the background.

Most helpful mixed review
A beautiful, atypical white rum with a fruity, eau-de-vie-like profile.
Review by Émile Shevek
The bouquet is heady, you can smell it a meter away, a mixture of river antoine and vieux sajous, with notes of ripe and almost estery, tropical fruits, citrus, lychee, corn, seaweed and almost garlic. The palate is warm and brings back the hints perceived on the nose where ripe fruits, vegetables and citrus prevail. In the finish an excellent length, some honeyed and toasted notes with others peppery and metallic. Very good, round and with personality. In the empty glass aged cheese (esters?) and some roasted

Slight imbalance with a rather closed nose compared to the much more expressive palate with its beautiful richness and aromatic intensity. Sustained length with lovely notes of cane and spice.

This bottle has been sitting in the cellar for almost three years now and that was a good thing! Back then I thought the rum was delicious, but the main reason for buying it was that I liked the bottle so much and I'm really surprised at myself for how long I could leave something so tasty sitting around untouched. But now to the rhum - this agricole is incredibly mild and has mainly metallic-sweet grassy notes in the foreground and the finish has a bit of marzipan and then there's a very subtle fruity chewing gum note. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Fabian from Rumdepot for making me try this rhum - it's a real winner. The alcohol is extremely well integrated here - you can't taste the 52% at all - I instantly have the urge to make a TiPunch with it.

Intense nose of fermented cane, olive and freshness. These notes linger on the palate, accompanied by pepper and green cardamom. A touch of iodine intensifies the freshness. The finish is very long on cane and freshness.
