CDI New Yarmouth Jamaica 2005
People already deep into Jamaican funk are the crowd here. This New Yarmouth 2005 is a full-on ester bomb: glue, varnish, overripe mango and pineapple, with cookie dough and marzipan underneath. Several tasters note it opens gorgeous on the nose but loses steam on the palate, turning spicy and slightly bitter. At 55% it drinks at a comfortable strength for the intensity.
The community says- Intense ester nose
- Overripe tropical fruit
- Fades on palate

How does CDI New Yarmouth Jamaica 2005 taste?
Aggregated from 32 community reviews.
Funky New Yarmouth ester bomb, fades late Loved by high-ester fans for its glue-and-tropical-fruit New Yarmouth nose. The common gripe: it fades fast on the palate and a light astringency shows up late.

It reminds me a bit of the Hampden Kill Devil 2007. Nice representative of these continental Jamaicans, very pleasant and to which one can only reproach a slight lack of texture. Really pleasant.

Nose: Jamaica! Ester, varnish and tropical fruit in glorious intensity. Baking spices like cinnamon can also be heard.Palate: sour attack, glue and fruit immediately. Then mild wood flavor.Finish: slowly smoky notes and the honey emerge. Verdict: Scores mainly for its wonderfully intense and typical Jamaican nose. Unfortunately, it quickly runs out of breath on the palate, which costs points.

In the nose the full load of plastic, black olives and very fruity (ripe mango). With a little water comes chocolate. In the mouth then very herbaceous, fleshy notes appear a la TECA 2003 (help!!!!).Well done, but not mine.

Not quite as good as the 13-year-old New Yarmouth
