Thinking about the price tag this is also a good rum. The Fiji flavours are there and the wood is not to dominant. The fruit is really nice and there is a spice/warm touch in the palate.

guter Trinkstärke Fiji! nicht zu Rauchig, nicht zu medizinisch, schöne Frucht und Würze, sehr harmonisch, könnt nur paar % mehr Vertragen.

Gut, aber etwas flach

My nose detects a pleasant light ester acidity, combined with sugarcane, lemons, exotic fruits, and a bit of medicine that strongly reminds me of the Rockley style – a very promising start! On the palate, the similarity to the Rockley style continues, as I also perceive honey alongside the typical medicinal notes. Additionally, there's sweetness at the beginning that quickly shifts into a light ester acidity. In direct comparison with the DT Fiji 10yo 53.8%, the Fiji unfortunately falls short – the ~8% ABV difference of the DT is clearly noticeable. The SBS Fiji loses a lot of body and strength due to heavy dilution without gaining in aroma. Why was it diluted here? A medium-long finish that leans into herbal notes unfortunately doesn't save the mistake of dilution. Still, a good rum for people who like Rockley and don't mind dilution. 80 points.
