Dry wood, licorice and anise lead here, with plum, leather and a faint tar underneath — the classic Port Mourant pot-still signature at 23 years. It pours viscous and oily, and the 54.9% sits well-integrated rather than hot. One taster nailed it: Guyana on the nose, an old low-ester Jamaican in the mouth. A slow, spice-heavy sipper that keeps opening up.

Very round, balanced profile - a pleasant blend of tropical fruits, wood, spices and a little caramel sweetness. For me, this is one of the best representatives of the 1989 Uitvlugts.

Sports car festival Velden 29.05. Super color, very viscous and oily. Becomes more and more complex. Dry wood, spicy, dried fruit, hay, flowers. Perfectly melted. Woodier and fruitier in the mouth. Super rum. Tasted blind, I would have placed the nose in Guyana, then an old low-ester Jamaican in the mouth.

Nose Wood, light roasted, light earthy, leather, light herbs, anise, faint smoke, light pencil shavings, dried fruit, plums. Palate Warm, wood, light roasted, faint smoke, anise, light plum, light olive, faint tar, light herbs, tobacco. Finish Very long, wood, faint smoke, light plum, faint caramel, light peppery, light olive. Empty glass Prunes, vanilla, light chocolate, herbs, light caramel, licorice.

Spousta, spousta chutě i vůně. Nos plný těžkých, port mourant vúní, kůže, dřeva a koření. Chuť je plná, dlouhotrvající prvotní náznaky ovoce ustupují těžký tónům anýzu a lékořice. Další krásný kousek z dílny duncan tayloru.
