St. Nicholas Abbey Foursquare 12 Years old
Vanilla, caramel and coconut lead the nose, with a bit of lemon and oak that grows on the palate. It's a well-balanced, elegant Barbados sipper from Foursquare, aged 12 years. The recurring complaint: at 40% it drinks a touch thin and watery, and several tasters wished for cask strength to give it more body and depth.

Best Bajan rum I’ve tasted so far. This release is produced by Foursquare for St. Nicholas Abbey, cause they hadn’t rum aged at this length at this stage of their production. Nowadays they have released a 12yo produced at the estate if I’ve understood it right.

Drank today at Jarek's as a nightcap. A very elegant and well-balanced rum. Despite its 40%, it can do a lot, but unfortunately seems a little too thin. With a few more revolutions this would certainly be a cracker. A little overpriced for the current price and not worth the money. At the price when Jarek was able to buy it, it was certainly justified.

Drank today with Zabo as a "nightcap". My first impression is confirmed again. Very tasty nose, with fruit, toffee, caramel. The fruit recedes on the palate. Spices, caramel, coconut and some smoke and wood take over. Last time I noted: "Pleasantly strong despite only 40% alcohol." Still holds true. But the bottom line is unfortunately too thin. This rum at cask strength would be awesome.

This one does really well when compared to the 15 year old. Fruity and round and I love the light smoky touch on the palate. Would have loved to try it with a higher ABV because I think it would have done it well.

A wonderful rum at an absurd price. This is a very good Barbados rum with a very good smell and taste, but with a low ABV and a slightly watery taste, the price is simply ridiculously high. In addition, the alcohol (despite a shallow 40%) is not very well integrated. Deduction of points due to the miserable PLV

Relativ dünn, nett, aber auch nicht viel mehr.

What a wonderful surprise! My first St. Nicholas Abbey. The price is justified not only by its rarity but also by its quality. A beautifully balanced rum, recognizably Barbaros and a great sipper.

This is the Rum that got me interested in the Rum World. So so pure and tasty. Also had the 8 yr & 10 yr. Wish I could get more. Only 1 full bottle left.

Coconut and vanilla. Caramel. Pours dark golden. Some lemon in there. Oak in the nose and it picks up in the mouth. Medium finish, mostly the oak that sticks around. Pleasant but might not come back to this. Sample split thanks to xamsx.

Ziemlich dünn, kein Vergleich mit anderen Foursquares. PLV nicht angemessen. Schmeckt zwar ganz gut und lässt sich angenehm Sippen, aber überhaupt keine Dichte oder Mehrschichtigkeit.

A very fine wine, unfortunately hard to come by. Impresses with its balance and fruitiness
