Bundaberg Original
Aussies raised on this one know exactly what it's for: 30% Bundy, 70% coke or ginger beer, mates and a campfire. In that setting it works. Poured neat it's a different story — rubber, solvent, aniseed and bicycle-tube phenol that one member called "rough as guts". A cultural staple back home, an acquired taste everywhere else.

Review by Aussierumfan
When this is drunk the way it's meant to be drunk, ie 30% bundy and 70% coke/ginger beer with mates around a camp fire on a cold winters night, this is a great drink, and probably the only rum most aussies have ever had. In this setting it's perfectly acceptable and i would happily get blind on it and have done so on many an occasion. A fine, well aged sipping rum it ain't 🤪 drunk neat it's as rough as guts, however this is basically unheard of in Australia unless being done so by skulling straight out of the bottle, as a dare on your 21st birthday!! I have very fond memories of such youthful stupidity😉 If you havnt been brought up on this rum I can completely understand how you would find it an abomination!🤣🤣

Kneipe Christiansen's Hamburg Dezember 2025. Und dann sind wir in Australien. Mein zweiter Bundaberg, danke Artur für den ersten :) Relativ medizinisches Teil haben wir hier. Ansonsten noch viel Lösungsmittel und Gummi.

Then you can also put a fahradaschlauch in vodka... This does not have much to do with rum

Tasted 29-01-2017 This is my hell in a rum , pure aniseed flavour that takes over everything and it sadly a flavour I despise.

Read full review →However, I could understand people who like this not actually liking other rums. Or having much left by way of brain cells. The rum also comes in a overproof version I double checked my bottle at first to check they hadn't sent that one! This is terrible and gives rum...
