Bacardi Facundo Exquisito
Sipped neat it's soft, sweet and easy: vanilla, toffee, caramel and a sherry edge, with brown sugar, coffee and molasses turning up on ice. Barely any burn at 40%. The recurring gripe is that all that 24-year oak sits behind a body many tasters call too light — several openly wish for more ABV. Skip mixing; one member found cola washed the complexity right out.

How does Bacardi Facundo Exquisito taste?
Aggregated from 36 community reviews.
Smooth, sweet 24-year sipper, held back by low ABV Well-liked as a smooth, sweet sipper with real oak and molasses depth, but a steady chorus wishes it weren't watered down to 40% — many feel it's held back.

This one is slightly better than the Eximo and the first thing is that this one has g far more wood to it. I guess many wont like the woody notes. The nose is fruity with vanilla followed by coconut and caramel. A hint of sherry is there as well. The palate is balanced and sweet with fruit and vanilla. Caramel, molasses and sherry follows. Here the oak really hits you, seriously. The finish is also full of oak, sweet and fruity with spices. Looking at the price the Eximo is the better option considering price to quality.

A sample brought on vacation to sunny Turkey. In the nose it has a sweetness, with spicy hints. In the notes it is equally sweet, with tastes of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon and dried fruit. I would like to have a bit more ABV %

Flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, bananas, toffee and raisins.

On The Rocks: On the nose a rich aroma of brown sugar and some hints of coffee. Taste is rich and complex with layers of flavours stacking. There is brown sugar, coffee, molasses and mild sweet fruit. The finish is long with the brown sugar and molasses continuing. This is a delicious and complex rum. Mixed Pepsi Zero: on the nose Pepsi Zero. Taste revealed a smooth sweet Pepsi Zero taste with a short finish. All complexity is washed out. It’s delicious but a waste to drink mixed.

This is an extremely smooth rum from start to finish skewing on the sweeter side. There is little alcohol burn on the nose or in the palate. You get caramel and vanilla throughout with wood and spice. The finish is medium in length and keeps you wanting to come back for more.

I would have loved to taste this before the watering down. It’s really good, but way too weak. At around 50% ABV I would probably have given it around 80-85 points. - Three years since last tasting and I agree. Please give me more ABV and this would be quite good.

Advent Calendar for my brother 2025. Little less fruity than Eximo.

Hmmmm. Not anywhere near as good as I was hoping or expecting. Soft and sweet. Vanilla, sherry and barrel influence on the nose. Mouth is sweet toffee and spice but just feels over the top. Finish is similar to the mouth with spice and sweet notes and little complexity. Understand why non rum drinkers would enjoy but a long way from an exceptional rum

Read full review →It's the style of rum but it's just too light. Don Q show you how to make a full flavoured "light" rum with their Gran Reserva. So it is possible. I'm sure Bacardi could do a lot better than this. Maybe even dropping the additives might make the rum a...
