Made for people who already chase Savanna's Grand Arôme funk and want it dialed up to the extreme. Strawberry-yogurt, bubble gum, overripe pineapple and furniture polish pour out of the glass — a full ester fruit bomb. At 63.8% the alcohol sits surprisingly well integrated, with a long finish. Widely treated as the reference HERR, but that artificial-candy sweetness isn't for everyone.

Liked by some, but for me the smell, aromas and taste are really awful. Liquid Hubba Bubba bubble gum and a barrage of artificial-looking aromatics immediately trigger headaches and negative associations for me. I do not have to have, for me completely disgusting and undrinkable. 3.9 because then comes "drinkable" in the ranking, which it is definitely not for me.

Sehr intensives und komplexes Profil mit einer beeindruckenden Mischung aus reifer Frucht, Würze und markanten Esteraromen. Am Gaumen dicht und vielschichtig, dabei dennoch präzise strukturiert. Der lange Abgang verbindet Frucht, Holz und leichte Bitternoten und zeigt, wie kraftvoll und ausgewogen Savanna sein kann.

RumX Rarities jour 3 et petite dégustation Savanna. Explosion de fruits au nez, mirabelle, abricot, ananas alcoolisé, esters mais aussi du bubble gum et un côté fermenté un peu moins agréable. Explosion de fruits en bouche aussi, ananas alcoolisé, mirabelle, melon trop mûr. Puis un étrange arôme de chewing-gum mâché trop longtemps, de fermenté et de fraise chimique. La finale est longue avec des arômes très Savanna, chewing-gum, camomille et dentifrice à la fraise et au menthol. Un rhum explosif 🧨, super intéressant, original et avec beaucoup de personnalité. Goûté en parallèle avec “Blanc” et il est beaucoup moins agréable mais goûté seul il est délicieux.

Little Savanna GA & HERR cross tasting: Holy F - this is pure HERR essence on the nose. Plenty of esters. Fruity chewing gum and menthol. Intense and positively weird. Excellent. On the palate, this one is just as much of a weapon as on the nose. Intense esters providing ample of tropical fruits and strawberries. Very adstringent. The wildness in this one really sets it apart in the line up and puts it very much up there on the „HERR essence scale“ if you‘d like.

the #3 from the Rarities calendar. A real board! In the GA profile, I've often noted red fruits (strawberries, sour cherries, sometimes red fruit jelly). I don't find that here, but I do find a nice passion fruit note. A real unique selling point in this respect. Chewing tobacco and spices on the palate. There is smoked bacon on the finish.

On the nose it is spacey, flooding the room with its scents of strawberry/big babol, melon, pineapple, banana, maracuja and other tropical fruits in addition to the esters/ripened.On the palate the ripened/ester, some roasted, strawberry/big babol, melon, papaya and pepper linger on the long, intense finish (I can't find the maracuja note that others mention). Abv integrated well, but not very rounded, the big babol note covers everything else a bit and I don't like big babol in general(hence the low rating, although objectively it remains a great rum). A unique candy in the empty big babol glass, esters and mild roasted. Thanks to Hendrick's for the opportunity.

A Savanna Grand Arôme to the extreme, very intense aromatically. The nose is extremely fruity, with notes of ripe tropical fruit and red fruit, notably strawberry. There's also a strong chemical side, reminiscent of a candy like Tagada Strawberries or Harlequin candies. This medicinal side of polish and ferment, almost chewing-gum-like, is accompanied by a discreet woodiness and an impression of fruitcake. A truly interesting olfactory facet of Grand Arôme. The attack on the palate is very intense. There's a chemical and synthetic sweetness, boosted by medicinal notes and accompanied by very ripe exotic fruit. Subtle spices and oak add balance to the profile. The alcohol is extremely well integrated. This is a heavy, aromatic and concentrated profile, but with great finesse in its flavors. The finish is interminable and equally concentrated. Fruit comes to the fore, with melon in particular, but also a medicinal and vanilla touch. A superbly well-crafted profile, rich yet masterful. Great liquid art.

absolute Granate. definitiv einer der besten HERR's die es gibt. wahnsinnig geiles Erlebnis und zurecht im Olymp der besten Savannas. Überreifer grüner Apfel, vergorene Ananas und Erdbeere, Zimt Marshmallows und Kamillen-Tee mit etwas Wick Menthol Bonbons und einer intensiven Säure Struktur wie von Grünen granny Smith Äpfeln, danach dann die Kamille und dann dezent scharfer Zimt und Wald-Erdbeeren. Geiles Zeug!

Uiuiui, schöne Granate hätte ich behauptet. Aber meines Erachtens schafft er es leider nicht ganz den Savanna Blanc Paris vom Thron zu stürzen in meinem Ranking, aber nur hauchdünn dahinter. Leider ist der Preis das ausschlaggebende was mich abhält, hier nachlegen.

Savanna Esterbombe der Spitzenklasse. Die künstliche Erdbeer-Kaugummi-Haribo Aromatik muss man schon mögen und es ist eher etwas für ab umd zu – aber ein echter Hammer und hier in Perfektion in die Flasche gebracht. Einer der wenigen Rums wo‘s wirklich wurscht ist, was man vorher gegessen hat 😂

Oh My God - this one is awesome! It consist all taste of standard HERR - red and yellow fruits. Gummi bears on steroids. But this is 10yo. Calmed alcohol, integrated, mild but the taste remains. MUST TRY BEFORE DIE!

Dieser Rum ist eine echte Esterbombe : tropisch, kraftvoll und gut ausbalanciert. Er erinnert an überreifes Früchtekompott mit Mango, Papaya und Ananas. Dazu kommen Röstaromen, ein Hauch von Gerste und Getreide sowie leichte milchige Noten. Die Süsse und die Kraft sind gut abgestimmt. Der Abgang ist lang und intensiv. Besonders beeindruckt, wie stimmig alles zusammenpasst. Ein herausragender Rum, der seinen Ruf absolut verdient.

WHAT A RHUM! It spreads all over the tongue once you take the first sip. Green banana, banana, papaya, the buttery notes of overripe papaya (which not everyone likes). A perfect sweetness, perfect integration of the abv, even in great balance and harmony with the glue and polish. Benchmark for the high esther rums!

Eine Geschmacksexplosion vom ersten Schluck an. Den extremen Stil muss man natürlich mögen, aber dann ist dann ein großartiger Rum. Erdbeere, Eisbonbon und Juicy-Fruit-Kaugummi mit endlos langen Abgang. Alkohl ist gut, aber nicht perfekt integriert.

Ein wahrhaft wilder Ritt, mit einem unverwechselbaren Profil. Aus den folgenden Gründen ist für mich jedoch keine Spitzennote drin: 1. Erinnert mich zu sehr an chinesischen Baijiu, mit dem ich ein paar traumatische Erfahrungen gesammelt habe 😀 2. Das Mundgefühl mit dem leichten Bizzeln auf der Zunge gefällt mir eher nicht 3. Bei aller Brachialität lässt der Rum doch eine gewisse Komplexität vermissen. In Summe aber natürlich dennoch ein Privileg, einen Rum mit dieser Reputation einmal probiert haben zu können.

Decent rum. Nose is rather slow at the beginning, strawbery and esters dominate. Well balanced taste, tropical fruits, herbal, esters, wood, some caramel and reasted sugar at finish (little too much for me). Not 9+ for me but very drinkable.
