Rhum J.M Élevé Sous Bois
Sip it neat or over ice and you get a young agricole full of grass and sugarcane, with ginger, pepper and young oak layered over citrus and a little dried fruit. One taster called the palate more fruity than the nose, but everyone agrees the finish runs short and the whole thing stays light. Easy to drink, and it works in cocktails too.

A beautiful short aged Rhum Agricole. The nose is inviting and one perceives young wood, spices, raisins, herbal and earthy notes. If you give the rhum time in the glass, apricot joins in. The taste is characterized by spices, sandalwood, pepper, citrus fruits and vegetal notes. The finish is dry and characterized by spices, young wood and floral notes.

A wood-aged J.M. with a lot to offer for its young age. Floral, earthy and vegetal notes contrast with woody, spicy and peppery ones. The profile is relatively elaborate. The attack on the palate is fruitier, with dried fruit and citrus, but retains a strong vegetal and floral framework, with leather and tobacco on top. The finish, however, is very short and gives little away. A rum that remains approachable and interesting for its age and the aromas it releases.

Tasted 14-07-2020 On my original tasting I mixed his with ting and wondered why it got lost . Since then I have revisited neat and in cocktails and it's another beautiful agricole .
