Odevie SAS Island Signature Yellow Snake
Sip it neat or lean on it for cocktails — either works, though many tasters wish it hit harder. The nose is unmistakably Jamaican: banana, tropical fruit and a light funk. On the palate you get plum, pepper and a touch of sweetness, but the body is thin and the finish reads a bit watery. A gentle way into Jamaican rum rather than a bold one.

#5813 29.09.2025 Day three of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is a sweet yet very light profile. Fresh and fruity with nice spices and light floral notes. Not really my type of rum.

Nose: Very fruity with slight hints of Jamaican funk. Palate: spicy, peppery. Finish: medium-long, warm and light. I like the nose better than the palate. I raised my original rating from 6.5 to 7.0 because it's not outstanding but it's typical of Jamaica.

It's not bad. It drinks well. It can help those who don't know Jamaicans to discover them. For my part, I find it too "light". It clearly lacks watts. The aromas aren't strong enough.

Yes, it's Jamaican. The flavor is very light. Tropical fruits, honey, herbs, recognizable funky notes. No body. The flavor is inexpressive, fruity with herbal bitterness. This rum lacks strength, the flavor is very watery. Would be a good base for cocktails.

A fruity smell, some ester. The taste is quite sweet, somewhat fruity and spicy, the finish is oily.

Yellow Snake, a blend of Jamaican molasses rums aged in oak. In the aroma you can immediately feel 100% Jamaica, and at the same time a certain delicacy. There is more going on in the taste, a bit of plum, pepper, but still at an easy-to-accept level. The finish is the weakest - it would be great if it was very short, but unfortunatelly it's medium to long, feels as if a bit watered down (it leaves a similar feeling on the palate as if you had washed down rum with water). Nevertheless, for Jamaican fanatics, and there are quite a few of them, it seems to me to be a really okay production in the range of up to 35 euro. It may not have the character of the basic Worthy Park, but it is not completely pointless to try.
