Longueteau Rhum Blanc 62
One taster calls it "one of my favorite white rums," and the ti-punch crowd agrees. Expect fresh sugarcane, lime and green apple with a peppery, gingery bite. At 62% it runs hot — some find the alcohol a touch sharp, others say it's well integrated. A few felt it was middle-of-the-road next to Longueteau's fancier bottles, but most rate it grassy, oily and lively.

This rum from the Esperance distillery, which also produces the Karukera brand, is produced from the blue and red canes of the estate. Fermented in a natural way, without any additives and then distilled on a traditional Savalle column whereafter it’s just slightly watered down with the offspring water from the Soufrière volcano before bottled at the estate. Overall an powerful Agricole that despite the high ABV is very smooth and quite mild. I’ve also tested it in a Ti Punch, and it was great. So I understand that it’s very popular locally in Guadeloupe.

It's finally getting better
Review by TheRhumhoe
An elegant, well-balanced Longueteau, with a lovely attack on the nose of sugarcane, vegetal, earthy and floral aromas. Tropical fruit and citrus are not far behind in this dry but fairly rounded profile. The attack on the palate is warmer and spicier. Ginger sharpens the profile, while nature (floral and vegetal notes) tries to reclaim its rights, before letting citrus take the lead. The profile isn't particularly spectacular, but it remains well constructed. The alcohol, on the other hand, is very well integrated. The finish is long, bordered by sugarcane and vegetal notes, citrus (cltron zest) and spices (ginger). The latter accentuate the dryness of the finish. A rather well-made, powerful and aromatic Longueteau.

What strikes me here, after having tried a vertical of Blanc, is the incredible creaminess! It's quite thick, almost creamy. Cannes, vegetal and lime very easy to perceive. On the nose: Vegetal, Sugar cane, Lime, Alcoholic, Green apple. On the palate: Sugarcane, Intense, Lemon, Creamy, Lime, Green apple Finish: Lemon zest, Green apple

A beautiful white

Very good white. A beautiful smell of cane and lemon. Average length.

This one is really nice. Maybe a bit sharp due to the alcohol not being integrated too well, but nonetheless a very nice Agricole Blanc with grassy and peppery notes.
Review by ElReyTristan
Nice lemony, green smell. It burns on the palate, and as it passes through the gullet, it's always warm. It's hard to bring out aromas with such power, rather green so cucumber and gin for example. Good, but difficult to enjoy dry. Indeed, a ti-punch is better.

My first Longueteau and I really dig it. Higher on the green apple and lime with a lot of floral notes and some sharper spices like coriander and clove. Guadalupe does not disappoint—this gives Pere Labat 59 a run for its money.

Nice find that 62 ! A little disappointed compared to the 9... Less length in mouth and not the particular sparkle. But it remains very very good

One of my favorite white rums. A pure cane juice, perfect in ti-punch despite its 62°, it gives off a sweetness and an incredible aromatic richness.
