Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Nice nose that promises a bit more liveliness than what actually shows up on the palate. Here, the Caroni is bone dry, with hardly any sweetness or fruitiness, instead packed with medicinal power combined with dirty Caroni notes. Also interesting, but as a fan of the 1996 Guyana stock Caronis, this isn’t quite my preferred Caroni flavor profile.

29.01.2022 The big Caroni tasting with old rum buddies, good food, snacks and a lot of talking about old times. Notes Medium dark colour. Nose Intense, wood, tar, rubber, light mint, dried fruit, faint caramel. Palate Round, complex, wood, tar, rubber, lightly bitter, light mint, caramel, cherry. Finish Medium to long, wood, tar, light rubber, dried fruit, light caramel.
