Port Mourant El Dorado Ruby Port Casks Finish (2018) 2000
More than one taster called this a "missglücktes Experiment" — a misfired experiment that got bottled anyway. The nose wins people over: heavy Demerara syrup, dark cherry, oak and red fruit from the port cask. Then the palate splits off into dry, tannic, smoky tobacco that doesn't quite line up with the floral sweetness. Strong nose, divisive mouth.

Great nose, dry tannic port-cask Demerara Most agree the nose is the best part — fruity, syrupy, inviting. The palate turns dry, bitter and tannic with a tobacco edge several found mismatched. Not a crowd favorite.

Dunkel und schwer, ölige Viskosität. Super Nase: ordentlich würzig. Demerara Sirup mit etwas Brühwürfel und Bratensauce. Etwas kribbelig im Mund. Auch tropische Früchte kommen durch. Schwer im Abgang.

Somehow unround. Actually not a bad rum, but somehow indefinable with a lot of barrel/ menthol influence. I can't really taste the PM.

This is one of the El Dorado cask finishes and a pretty good one. A very fruity nose especially if u you add a drop or two of water. The palate is sweet and bitter at the same time with lots of fruitiness and spicy at the same time. The finish is alcoholic and frimuity at the same time.

Gefällt mir an der Nase besser als am Gaumen znd kann mich insgesamt nicht wirklich überzeugen. Die durchlaufende RX Nummer ist noch das Beste an diesem Rum. Etwas wahllos im Geschmack und irgendwie nach misslungenem Experiment, das dennoch abgefüllt wurde. Muss man nicht probiert haben.

Im Test heute die Last Cask Serie von El Dorado RX6784 RX13225 RX13396 RX5449 RX3456 und RX6785. Zusammen gefasst alles recht solide Abfüllungen die aber leider nicht unbedingt die Erwartungen erfüllt haben. Die Preisgestaltung meines Erachtens ein wenig zu hoch.

I had this for a while now, and never came around to taste it. Smelling it, I easily get the port notes, and knowing El Dorado I expected some sweetness. Alas, far from it! It is quite intense (alcohol) and dry. Fruits are a stronger in the smell and less so to my taste buds, but I forgot water and that might be the reason.
