Samaroli Trinidad Rum 1999
Litchi, guava and fresh-cut grass lead here, with light smoke, tobacco and a faint glue note underneath — one taster called it a "fruit bomb." At 45% after 19 years it's remarkably pale and drinks light and easy, though several people wish it hadn't been diluted so far; a couple call it thin and slightly watery. Complex if you give it air.

- Grassy and fresh

Very lovely rum. Nose: A large fruit basket (litchi, lemon, prunes, pineapple) mixed with some fresh flowery notes. Mouth: It starts with an untypical grappa taste… but when you let it rest in your mouth for about 30-60 sek it will open up and you can find some delicious notes. Unfortunately, a bit thin, powerless… due dilution… The finish: is delicious and medium long. The alcohol is integrated very well

8,6:On the nose, this rum is really estery refreshing with fruity, grassy and tea aromas. We get nice, juicy tropical fruits like litchi, intense, ripe guava, there is vegetal side also with some juicy carrot and roasted with light smokiness and tar. After airing the rum, it shows its complexity with dried fruits, light woodiness with some tannins, is again a bit vegetal and becomes herbal after some rest. Also notes of leather are present. All well rounded... 8,6:On the palate, strong and juicy tropical fruits burst and overwhelm our tasting buds. There is omnipresent ripe guava, passion fruit. Nice pastry, like yummy honeyed brioche, coconut cake, join the fruitiness. The rum becomes spicy with sweet spices like cinnamon. After a while, yellow and dried fruits with dried apricot join the party and we are going towards the pear fruit schnapps notes, what a nice complexity. After resting the rum, roasted palate is even more obvious with smoky, ashy, tarry and some metallic notes. When cannot forget floral notes later on and milk chocolate. 8,2:The finish is medium, a bit thin, mild with dried fruits, oak with vanilla, spicy and omnipresent ripe guava, a bit tarry.. 😋

Interesting rum, I wouldn't have guessed it was 19 years old. The colour is very light, I would guess a maximum of 9. The taste is intense fruit and the aroma is fruit and wood...
