Most tasters land on "decent but not exciting" here. It's a soft, sweet 21-year Panama: vanilla, caramel, cinnamon and a little raisin, with dark chocolate and pepper on a short finish. Several found it watery at 41.3% and one-note, though a few caught charred wood and solvent that made it more interesting than expected. Sweet-sipper territory that also mixes well.

Ein spannender Rum mit leichten Aromen von Schokolade. Man erkennt aber auch Lösungsmittel. Im Abgang habe ich sogar leicht den Geschmack von Rosinen wahr genommen. Alkohol ist ganz gut eingebunden. In Ordnung

Hier auch ein solider Durchschnittsrum. Auch wieder Schokolade, Karamell und Vanille in der Nase. Dasselbe dann im Gaumen, wobei er zusätzlich noch würzig überkommt und auch das Fass ist hier rauszuschmecken.

Nicht sehr facettenreich aber dennoch irgendwie spannend. Im Geruch schon leichte Noten von verkohltem Holz, was sich im Geschmack mit einer alkoholischen Schärfe ausprägt. Klingt so erstmal nicht lecker, das Wechselspiel ist aber interessant und fordernd. Dafür das ich ihn als easy sipping in Erinnerung und in meinen Notizen hatte, war ich sehr überrascht. Vielleicht Tagesform. Gesamtpaket mit Flasche und Karton ist wirklich klasse. Preis Leistung ist auch sehr gut. Trotz schwieriger Bewertung kann ich den 1914er empfehlen.

Wenig Schokolade, etwas Honig im Abgang, in der medizinischen Nase auch etwas Rosine. Insgesamt aber doch sehr verwässert und wenig intensiv.

Original impressions from 2017 rum calendar. Nose: ** Taste: ** Overall: ** ”41,3% Panama.” This is alot better than my first impression. Green apples, cinnamon and vanilla on the nose. Palate is not like the nose, it is much sweeter with honey, marzipan, vanilla and dried fruits. Good sipper if you like the sweeter rums.

Vanille, Karamell, etwas Rosine und eine leichte Zimtnote überwiegen in der Nase. Er ist sehr süß und auch alkoholisch. Ansonsten schmeckt er nach Vanille und dunkler Schokolade. Kurzer Abgang mit Noten von Kakao und etwas Pfeffer. Das einzige, was ihn interessant macht.
