People deep into aged Bellevue and dark, complex cane-juice rum will find the most here. Twenty years at 55.2% gives you smoky wood, licorice and menthol over concentrated tropical fruit, plum and raisins, with a long, spicy finish. A few tasters call it "dirty" and funky in the best way; one found it so mild the flavors nearly vanish. Give it rest and a drop of water.

Not classic Bellevue for me. Lots of dirty notes. Reminds me partly of TDL paired with Monymusk. Concentrated fruits, spicy, funky. Very good piece.

This is a great release and I just love it. At release the price was very good compared to what you got. Leave it to rest for a good while and also try to add some water to release even more flavours on the nose. The nose is nutty with mango, menthol, olive, licorice and cinnamon with light wood trailing. The palate is wonderful and complex yet well balanced. Fruity with spices and smoky wood and licorice. The finish is very long with wood, spices and raisins.

Very round Bellevue from 1998. The deep fruit aromas are just as present as the elegant wood notes, the taste is very harmonious. Great fun.

A rather dark and very complex profile. This is probably a molasses-pur jus blend like most (all?) Bellevue 1998s, but on this one it's more the notes of an old pur jus that stand out.

On the nose I would olive oil, wood and spices. In the mouth, smoked wood prevails at first, then fruit and the finish that the rum offers is endless. The whole thing is complex and very very enjoyable. I would like to come back to this one.

Getrunken in The Auld Alliance in Singapour - Riecht als wäre man in eine Dessert-Vitrine gefallen, die Creme Brulee trifft auf Zitronenkuchen, mit noch etwas Karamellbonbons dazu. Gefällt mir - Blind wäre ich aber wohl kaum auf Bellevue gekommen. (04/26)
