Asta Morris Rasta Morris 2004
Most people like this one, but agree the nose oversells it: several tasters swore blind it was a Foursquare — coconut, caramel, raisin, hazelnut — and then found the 64.4% a bit hot and one-dimensional on the palate. A few drops of water pull out a nutty, minty freshness. Naturally sweet-seeming despite no added sugar, though it can lean woody for some.

How does Asta Morris Rasta Morris 2004 taste?
Aggregated from 17 community reviews.
Coconut-and-caramel Nicaraguan, hot but tasty Well-liked Nicaraguan that noses like a Foursquare — coconut, raisin, nutty caramel. Most enjoy it; the common gripe is a hot, wood-heavy palate that doesn't fully match the nose.

Update: Nut nougat instead of caramel candy factory. Very nutty. Otherwise, blind, I probably would have mistaken it for a Foursquare: Coconut, raisins, very ripe stone fruit, some wood. Very soft and sweet, but quite intense for a Spaniard. In the mouth it is just as intense thanks to cask strength but not as complex. I find coconut again, dried fruit, some caramelized popcorn. The rum is not sweetened and without a sweetening finish, but still the sweet impression remains very present. The 64.4% is well integratedIn the soft finish, coconut and caramel linger very long. In the mouth and finish almost without bitterness, but unfortunately also without deep spice.Nice Spaniard that does not get boring thanks to cask strength. Special recommendation for fans of Travelers and Foursquare.

Excellent rum from Nicaragua. I would have blindly put by the strong coconut note direction Foursquare. Intense, but still drinkable and tasty. Deduction is for the not ideally integrated alcohol content.

The rum is not bad. The alcohol I find very dominant, a few drops of water help. The flavors form a nice transition from outside dried fruit on the nose and palate to the barrel influence at the back of the palate and finish.Mit but lacks something special for a higher rating.
