Adelphi Clarendon Selection 2003
Drinkers already deep into Jamaican pot-still funk are the ones who'll get this. It's a 14-year Clarendon (Monymusk) at 58.8%: esters and roasted wood on the nose, then a very spicy palate with nutmeg, red pepper, varnish and tropical fruit. Several tasters found it "etwas zu säuerlich" — a sharp, fermented edge — and the alcohol not always fully tucked in.
The community says- Funky ester nose
- Long spicy finish

How does Adelphi Clarendon Selection 2003 taste?
Aggregated from 19 community reviews.
Spicy, funky Jamaican pot-still sipper Well-liked funky Jamaican — spicy, fruity, long dry finish. A few found it too sour and the heat a bit loose, and it's not cheap.

Nose delicious Jamaica. Nice and funky. Very spicy flavor and long lasting finish. Similar to the HV Monymusk EBM. For me HV Monymusk EBM > Monymusk Adelphi.

#4287 07.10.2023 this was a 7 hour long event with 3 friends and it was a nice day. A totally different rum from the previous ones. Fresh with a heavier profile. Fruity with nice esters and roasted wood. The palate is medium dry, warm/spicy with fruit and some varnish. The finish is long and dry with a spicy touch.

My vacation bottle. Was unfortunately all too quickly gone😋

Spicy, fruity ,acidic furry and intense. Has somehow something of kiwi with roasted peanut butter, plus lots of wood, spices like nutmeg and red pepper, slightly smoky and after fermented tropical fruit. Nice monymusk, especially the nose is really fun! Only overall a little too acidic and the alcohol could be a little better integrated.

A nice Clarendon, on the nose wood and the usual tropical fruits, reminds me the famed 1995/1997 vintages. On the palate a vague butyric acid note welcomes us, then wood and vanilla adds to tropical fruit notes
