South Pacific Plantation Fiji Vintage 2009
One taster called it "really nothing special," and a lot of members land there too — but plenty enjoy it. Expect butterscotch and caramel wrapped in light glue and solvent, some smoky wood, pineapple and a spicy, drying finish. A mild, mid-weight Fiji that a few compare to a softer Hampden. Tastes gently sweetened, in typical Plantation style.

I am always fascinated by this absolutely round and great fiji rum. Fruity. Vanilla caramel. Everything is there. The alcohol strength is good and not too weak as you might think at first. I definitely recommend buying it here

Too much Pritt pen, and not in a good way....

A well-balanced fruity Fiji rum. I like the woody-sweet note paired with caramel-vanilla. The only thing I don't like is the somewhat tangy sticky taste in the finish. Nevertheless, a good choice in this price range.

For me, this is one of the most balanced rums I have drunk in this price category. Very drinkable with good complexity. Of course far behind the 2001s but the PLV is right here. Nice round finish. Simply makes you want more and is a nice start to the evening.

#6350 Enjoying a few samples while watching the Eco-Challenge Fiji, man those racers are tough. Pretty good when looking at the price tag, but also kind of light in the profile. The roasted wood is mixed with some nutts, pear, caramel and dried fruits. The palate is nice and spicy. Needs to rest for a while or the ABV will bite you.

Had this at a restaurant with very slim rum pickings. Really nothing special.

Some distraction from Fiji today: Very promising nose, followed by a mild but uneventful Rum. I somehow missed some of the fruit advertised by the nose. Good, but not special.

A strong smell, some wood, esters and glue, smoky and a bit dirty. The taste is slightly sweet at first, but then quickly becomes drier and woodier. The finish is quite sharp and a bit spicy.

Reminds me a lot of a Jamaican, especially the Hampden Single Estate.

Très porté sur le caramel au beurre enveloppé dans les solvants légers et quelques épices. C'est très bon mais cela manque un peu de caractère et de fruits.

I love this Fiji rum. I love the “bite”

Very floral, mineral release

Very tasty, alcohol well integrated and not overpowering. Slightly funky, but not nearly like Jamaican rums. Sweet as it is with several Plantations. Definitely a class better than Plantation's "standard Fiji".

Ganz OK aber wirklich empfehlenswert ist der leider nicht. Geschmacklich nichts besonderes.

Simple but well balanced. Very accessible and fruity. Nice vintage for a Fiji.

23-01-2025 A decent South Pacific rum. Would have liked a higher ABV. You get what you pay for. Being said that it’s a Plantation. Can find better Fiji rum to the price.

it carried super paw speech and content but too strong

Belle longueur.
