CDI Indonesia 2004

"Sweet and mild" is where most people start with this one — a light, fresh Indonesian rum (likely Batavia Arrack style) that leans on menthol, lemon and sugarcane rather than oak. Tasters call the profile "very unusual but likeable," and it shines in a daiquiri. Body's on the thin side, and the finish is short, so it won't wow oak lovers.

Light, minty Indonesian rum, great in cocktails A fresh, minty, unusual sipper people find either intriguing or too thin. Great in a daiquiri; the short finish and light body split opinion.

Had a wonderful tasting event yesterday with only good CDI rums. This one is the fifth one of the six. This rum sets of with a wonderful nose and then transcends into a bliss on the palate despite the relative young age. A well balanced, light and sweet non pretentious rum that you can sip without adding water. The finish is a bit short compared to the average CDI rums.
